Bikes: Menonite black urbanite, probably enough spare parts to make anther one.

for those of you planning on doing the hairshirt, i recommend you come out with me and do 200km brevet ride as a training run. The "Bewdley Glutebuster" goes from Markham out to north of Oshawa and to the tip of Rice lake and back. it's a hilly route and lives up to its name, but it'll get you ready for a double century for sure. let me know if you're interested in details.

EDIT: sunday june 11.

The idea of doing ~320k fixed in one day is absolutely astounding to me.

There's no way I could accomplish it, but I'm definitely up for going out and supporting those who are able to. If that requires me cheering like some sort of idiot from the roadside or pacing along to hand off drinks/snacks, so be it.

Edit: got my spell on.

Like I said *if* I were to drop that much money on bike-specific shants. I also rock the shortened dickies. Speaking of which, do you put a hem on yours? Or just leave them ratty on the bottom?

ditto. and also I have a car. support vehicle anyone?

I saw footage of someone getting a flat tire changed while still moving by a mech in the back of a wagon with the hatch up. Any guinea pigs?

i've done the ratty bottom thing but i usually just do the roll-up. the ass on my current pair is getting pretty threadbare; i'm thinking about getting a new pair and just buying the shortest inseam they have, that should be about the right length.

the question is: was it a front or a back tire? was it a simple tubular wheel switch or did he bust out the gluey-patch kit?

Describe that situation. My mental images can't be right (but damn is that ever a sexy repair job ... nice ... very nice ... wait, nevermind).

CM ROLL CALL

If none of you guys are coming, then I'm gonna play elder scrolls oblivion at home instead. I'm a high elf! so so high.

Also, who is going to do critical ass? I predict many cold damp naked cyclists tonight.

Oh snap, I just realized I have a copy of that game sitting next to me that I haven't installed yet. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm heading out for CM if the weather isn't awful (ie. I'll still show up if it's questionable/drizzling).

I'll be at CM. I'm more than willing to bail early for foodbeer however. Depends on how good CM is... I'm fine with being a quitter!

I think I'm the only person on the planet that didn't really enjoy Oblivion. Maybe my character just sucks. I always wind up making Elf Ranger (read: high agility/dexterity archers) type characters in those types of games, which I don't think is a particularly easy set up. I got the crap beat of out me by a frigging FISH in oblivion the other day and I think that may have caused me to give up on it entirely.

Dude, archers? Seriously? I can't stand archers ... I'm always dex-based fighter types or casters.

Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with me either. I think I might just start over. Everyone seems to agree the game is amazing, but I'm just finding it really frustrating. I'm not *that* far into it so I'd be willing to start over again I guess.

I recall somnabulent saying he'd throw beer at me if I showed. Not too many, though. I have to pick up some speakers at 8:00. I should be there.

DUDE what. Circle strafe arrowing or arrow + reverse = h4x. I think I put like 60-70 hours into that game and during exam time nonetheless. Mine was high speed, high agi archer - it was hilarious.

Don't fast travel through the game and don't bother with the main quest. So much stuff to explore. Game is much more fun.

And if I can finish my breakfast in the next 30 minutes i'm riding downtown for critical massz0r
