sounds good. As far as I know, I'm good any weekend between now and July 16. So that gives us the first 3 weekends in July.

I heard they're streaming online as well, but I might be mistaken. Not really the same as watching it on tv either. :)

i know we have tinkerd with the idea of custom jerseys but i think we should definately have t-shirts made. my t collection is not looking good. who has ideas for logos? nothing cheesy!

Just a heads up. There will be an alleycat race this Saturday. Details are a bit sketchy at the moment but this much I know. 5 checkpoints to be done in any order... finish is on the Island so you will need a few bucks in yer pocket. edit: just get the TUVplayer and you're ready to go!! the stream is quite compressed (lotsa artifacting) but you can see the ball and the players. it takes time to start-up so don't get discouraged if nothing comes up for a few minutes.

you should be able to watch every game. that's what i did all weekend. 6 games baby!!!!

Hey cavernmech, since you're the wheel-building god around here, do you know if Shimano still produces the high-flange version of their Dura-Ace track hub?

I've been seeing them on the interweb and they look damn cool! If not, then are the low-flange versions pretty good, compared to the likes of Formula, Phil, Surly, etc...

I'm good for any date after Aug 5th to return to the velodrome, if its the 6th I may be horribly jet lagged but I'll still come out.

If there is a CV tonight I'm totally down, same with an alleycat I've often wondered just how much slower I am then the pros. It'll probably be horribly embarrasing but atleast I'll know.

The old Dura-Ace track hubs with the blue band on the flange are no longer in production. You can still find em if you look for em. I had a pair many moons ago and while VERY nice they are not the best choice for street use. Campy and Dura-Ace use loose bearing design's which require regular and frequent re-packing if you use them in inclement weather. The new style Dura-Ace small flange set are sealed a little better. I have a pair of these but they are on my track only/pimpin wheelset and see very little street use. Most of the other hubs on the market use cartridge bearings and are a much more durable and maintenance free choice for street use. That being said the Dura-Ace's spin like budda!

I am thinkin about coming out of Alleycat racing retirement for this one. Anyone interested?

Hmm... maybe I'll buy me some Formula hubs, since they have a fixed/fixed version, they're more durable, maintenance-free, and cheaper, but still a smooth hub. What do you think of Suzue hubs? Or do they still make them?

Suzue went out of business; surly makes a double fixed that is cheap and works well.
