Things got started a little late. I left at around 9:00 when the auction was just getting started. Gold sprints were supposed to follow. They were set up for it anyway.

well there is no chaffing and the odd riding boil never bothers me much , . description hmm guess you never played laccross and got drilled with the ball ? ok best I can come up with is that I might be having a longer adjustment period with fixed riding it sort of feels like when you have done your first century . maybe I might need a different type of seat ,I have driven bikes to work all year round for over 30 years with no problems mountain bike road bike off road trail riding bush riding snow/ice riding, it might be that my legs are in constant motion opposed to resting on a free wheel and that means moe pressure in the crotch area with my regular seats,, sooo aretheses brooks seats a better option/ sorry for the long post

I was just sitting in class at Baen and I looked at my bike and noticed a bulge like an inch from the headtube lug on the downtube. I felt it and it was not smooth, then I said **** and the prof looked at me.

Then I left.

Will my eggbeaters and mountain shoes be good enough for the track or should I bring my track pedals w/ clips and straps (the problem being I have no stiff soled shoes). Also sorry to hear about the bianchi rob... How did you notice it was broken while you were in class?

eggbeaters will be fine. I will be bringing the "track" tool kit.
I also need to know bike numbers so I can install extra racks if needed.

Got another Forest City question: I took a look at some photos of the track and noticed a lot of (actually all) people wearing a lot of clothing, ie. tights/arm warmers/vest/etc. Is that for protection in case of a fall or because the temperature at the track is frigid?

Edit: no bike for me. I'll save the Pake from certain death until I can destroy it at a worthy speed. ;)

Most of the equipment used is off the shelf stuff ie: rollers and support stands. The tricky part is having a program that can read the roller sensor. It spins at such a high rate a special program is needed to read the sensor output accurately. Navid and John had quite a few glitches in the system that had to be worked out before it was reliable. I have access to an old school set-up with a 2 hand dial for distance but it is rollers only....no support stands.
