Sweet Pete's Cyclepath on Bloor had 8-10 diff cycling caps last time I was in there, they have a good clothing selection overall for a bike shop. Urbane usually has a few diff caps too.

32, lymbzero, eyefloater, etc. are going to a Kensington pub (beside the park) to watch the Oilers take home the Stanley Cup.

Anyone else care to join? Then maybe we'll go ridin' if the weather holds up.

32flavours 06-19-06 04:52 PM

Actually- location has moved to my friend's house! Phone me for the address. It's in Kensington, so you won't have to go far from the bar to get there. Home beer = cheaper than bar beer!

I'm leaving my Lemond locked up and within eye's view. Or bring it onto the patio or in the house.

okay, what to do with your fixie when it's at home

Use a 4x4, good diameter threaded rod (1/2 is dirt cheap at home despot) and any odds and ends you like. Drill a hole in the 4x4 such that whatever length of threaded rod you use sits just below the ceiling when you stand the 4x4 on end. Place two nuts and a washer on the the threaded rod, then a wood block with a hole drilled in it on the rod. Place in a vertical position and thread the nuts towards the end of the rod, firmly pusing the block against the ceiling. You can pad the block with a piece of carpet if you're paranoid about scarring the ceiling. I'd also suggest using a cross piece of something as a base on the 4x4. Then place a hook(s) where you like to hang your bike. I've done two cross ways. The format you see here is a space consideration mostly.

****warning**** I'd highly recommend pressure treated wood. Other woods will crack when they dry. On that note, it's quite likely the 4x4 you buy will be wet. That means check the tightness of the setup often until the 4x4 is dry as it will shrink as it drys, loosening the whole shebang, much to your sorrow. And buy a decent diameter of allthread. Don't do what I did and use a narrow diameter as it will tend to bend a bit.

I'm going to be free from the bondages of school tomorrow afternoon. so i'm up for a ride.
now back to studying.

So I went into Dukes the other day and heard yet another strange story about this Igor fellow who runs the stolen bike shop on Queen St. west.

The guy at the shop said his friends bike got stolen a while ago and after searching for a while she was walking by Igor's shop and spotted her bike outside amongst all the other stolen bikes. As she was looking at it Igor came up to her and she said,
"hey this is my bike, it was stolen a couple weeks ago, I'm taking it back"

Igor, "no this can't be your bike"

girl, " yes it is, give it back to me right now or I'm calling the cops"

after she says this Igor starts walking away into the walkway beside the shop, so she follows him and is saying,
"hey **** you, I'm calling the cops right now and taking my bike back"

As she's saying this, Igor starts unzipping his pants and pulls them down, HE THEN SQUATED DOWN AND STARTED TAKING A ***** RIGHT THERE IN THE WALKWAY IN FRONT OF THE GIRL, she was completely weirded out by this (I'm sure everyone would be), so she walked away out onto the side walk and grabbed her bike that Igors minions stole and rode off.

This guy is ****in insane, that's all I have to say. If your bike ever gets stolen make sure you check Igor's immediately, just don't follow him into the walkway beside his shop.

Hey Ronin,
You wanna sell me your drop bars that originally came on your Lemond?

operator 06-21-06 01:25 AM

Yeah this is the same story that's been going around on CL a while now, each with small details different.
