I'm taking a bus up. I was already going up for a different party, so I'm stoked that (as hoped) Robin's shindig fits into my plans.
|
She's going to two parties in Barrie, what are the chances these would coincide?
|
Barrie is Ontario's new hotspot, didn't you know? You must be getting old to be so out of the loop (zing!).

On that note: need to discuss on irc with you |
Honey...compared to you lot I am, Yoda old...... I only look and feel young. I have tee-shirts and skateboard bearings older than Operator.
I remember there being farmland when driving from Barrie to Toronto.... |
Unfortunately I will be a no show as I'll be out of the province. Back for CM though, hopefully.
|
so who's coming out tonight?
|
Weird! The firewall was blocking BF all morning and I thought I was screwed for time wasting, but then I just starting shunting it through google translation, but that stopped me from posting. And now it works again all of a sudden. I think some IT guy is playing tricks on me.
Also for some reason 'Ill Mitch' is simplified Chinese for 'Chicago hurricane'... Go figure. |
I am coming tonight.
|
see you peeps tonight!

Hola from Argentina all! It´s been a while so i thought i´d drop some bike-related observations here because i have no one to share them with here. first off let me say that my desicion to not bring a bike was, i think, a wise one as i would probably be dead and buries if i tried to ride a bike in Buenos Aires. i have never in my life seen people as insane on the roads as the drivers here. firstly, there are no stop signs so crossing an intersection involves looking both ways and sprinting if you see a car. they also don´t pay attention to the lane divisions so you´ll typically see a cab lane splitting between a bus and another car then stop diagonally to get a fare. there are bikes here, yes. most of them are fat tired cruiser types with coaster brakes and super wide handle bars, or cargo bike with a front wheel smaller than the back and a sort of funky front kickstand the supports a heavy duty front rack. most of these bikes are used for deliveries, so it´s not unusal to see a bike like this with a basket the size of small desk filled with break, market bound on a weekend morning. also most of the city´s pizza (of which there is lots) is delivered in the same manner.
i haven´t seen many bike messengers, but there are a few that use the aforementioned style bike for small deliveries but most of this type of work is done on motorbikes as it never snows here. so far i´ve only seen one or two ¨road¨bikes, a coulple of carbon framed ones out in the country side but mostly they´re old steel frames with mid level parts and those crappy old SIS rear mechs which seems to be all people car get down here. anyone with money to buy a bike it seems buys a mountain bike, even to ride on the street. sadly, no fixies here either. i´m looking forward to getting home and back on the bike. i´ll post when i get back and i´ll need to go out for some hard rides to get into some sort of shape again. five weeks of red meat, wine and pastries does not do a body good (although the wine is cheap which is good. a very nice table wine can be had for the equivalent of $2 canadian and a nice ¨vintage¨bottle starting at about $10). i´m freezing my ass off here; i hope you´re all warm and toasty! |

I have a PS2 and a PC (Athlon 2500 w/ ATI x800) as well, but the PS2 is in the living room and the PC hasn't been hooked up in about a year.

wonder if operator made it home alright :O hope so, he just disappeared. edit: oh hello operator, i didn't see you there. too much food yes? |
Yeah I stopped to put my light on and when I looked up you guys were nowhere to be seen. Timetrialed east for about 3 km and then I gave up. Did you guys go past coxwell (the closed road?)
|
yea we went passed Coxwell, it isn't closed though they are just doing road work on Eastern in between Woodward Ave. and Coxwell.
We just rode to Eastern/Kingston and Queen and waited at the corner for a few minutes to see if you'd show up. After that we all decided that we'd head home. mcmc, shiz, lymbzero and ronin went back along eastern i think. darkmother and I headed up kingston to woodbine, up woodbine and then parted ways. |

I am just curious how you are running the speakers. just direct with a 1/8" cable, or something else? I have an m-audio sonica theater usb sound card, it's real pretty |
