That's true for pretty much all North American sports coverage.. I love hearing the crazy soccer hooligans doing the commentary for matches. GOooooooooaaaaaaaaaal!

The World Rally Championship coverage shown here used to have a British guy doing the commentary as well, and he was really good. Now there's some assmunch guy who probably does nascar normally... I swear I can hear him doing Dr. Evil style air-quotes every time he says anything even vaguely technical. ('They use this "all wheel drive" stuff for traction').

Or the first year when he started to come out from under Henault, and he was told to slow down to let BH take a final one, and he didn't. That was classic.
hahaha.. that was a classic moment.

So far I've picked up:
- Overcoming (CSC documentary)
- The Hard Road (Net Zero documentary)
- The Road to Paris (Lance TDF training documentary)
- UCI World Track Championships 2006
- Paris-Roubaix 2006
- Giro 2006

That site was also my source for the whole TDF last year and I'll likely get it from there this year as well.

Overcoming is a good documentary. The extras, which are many, contain some memorable episodes. Those other ones look awesome too. Maybe it's time to get a highspeed connection.

Clarification for all the TDF poolies. Alejandro Valverde is not eligible for the white jersey competition. I can spell but my math sucks. Sorry for the error. Thanks to Joe Bent for the 411.

What do you say Cavern? Let's throw a messer team together and take the Tour by storm.

I'm here til 9 and then home to my wife, the kids are at their Lola and Lolo's tonight. So I'm a scratch.

I was in the Winners at the Duff and there are those wicked pink Adidas biking shirts for 30$, who's getting one? I guess they are modelled after the T-mobile ones but just toned down and without the advertising. They are pretty fresh.

What Tour? Tour of the local bars? Tour of cheap eats places? Bike shops? I'm in!

He basically went to a steriod doctor and said "give me all you've got". there's no rule stipulating against drug use in the randonneuring governing body so it was all legit according to them. although ironically he is probably the first randonneur in the history of the sport to take EPO; most of them just eat snickers bars and drink chocolate milk and coffee.

anyway, it's an interesting piece because you never really hear the real story from the althletes who take this stuff.

any who cares if some of them are doping, they can take it and then go off it and do great, look at Ricahrd Virenque (sp?).

TRaffic Jammer 06-29-06 06:47 PM

hmm Tour of somethin' ..... travelling messers vs bike police road races for charity?

jeremywhitehorn 06-29-06 07:04 PM

tour of cheap eats! i'm in like flynn...

operator 06-29-06 07:19 PM

Or millar.

Edit: Is there a good cheap place to park DT somewhere within range of CM tomorrow? Or maybe somewhere free?

Ill Mitch 06-29-06 10:32 PM

You driving to CM?

That's kinda lame.
