anyone ever try wearing under armour shirts under their t-shirt?
my friend swears by it cause he says his shirt doesn't get sweaty anymore and it helps him cool down quick.

Offhoff 08-30-06 07:07 PM

I have an old Gardin team frame, 57 cm. It comes with 105 headset, and a gardin stem. Front and rear brakes if interested. $50.

Are you practicing your Kingston-speak? I swear...

John, we have to take you out and get you drunk before you leave. Sounds like with Shiz's misadventures we should get a group together.

Somnabulent: What's the attraction of going with the minimalist spoke #? A buddy of mine had some exorbitantly priced low spoke count wheels, hit one big pothole and whammo. Time for a new wheel. I've never understood the affinity for low spoke counts or radial lacing on street bikes.

A local option is this Jake the Snake from which could remove all the gears

I'm running 28 spokes on my fixed ride and it is fine so far but I have some decentish stuff, Miche Primato hubs laced to Velocity Deep Vs, so they are pretty good quality. With 28s, you would probably want to go 2cross or 3cross and not radially on the front. I've had mine on the streets for a little over a year and they are fine, no trueing needed yet and I am pretty rough on them.

operator 08-30-06 11:40 PM

One spoke wheels ftw!

orguasch 08-31-06 12:54 AM

yes I got some parts, Like a Dura ace 9 speed shifter (set) cogset (11x21) chain, a Look Carbon Clipless pedal, I am seeling it all for 300 or your best offer... email me at orguasch(at)yshoo.com

I still have 2 road frames in that size...free for the taking. I am sure I could rummage around here and find a bar and stem....maybe a rear wheel. Still havnt managed the dump run so there is still stuff in the "Basement of Doom"
Hey Offhoff...still want that cruiser?

Mostly looks, I'm afraid. The front wheel on my road bike is 20 spoke, and I think it looks sexy. :)

This wouldn't be a street setup, as I think I mentioned in my post. I'm considering building up a proper track bike to start going out to London somewhat regularly (especially in the Winter). I know Offhoff is talking of doing the same.

edit: I would be up for a beer ride, but not before Sunday.

/me hugs shiznaz.

I am in for a beer ride Sunday. You free for a few drunken hours on Sunday Sweep? The forecast at the moment is rain but I put very little faith in the weatherman. Meteorological School.. what a joke.

If these are to be for track use only I would give tubulars some consideration. Really nice NOS tubular rims can be had fairly cheaply. They are lighter than clinchers..ride sooooo nice on the track..and with the $$ you save on rims you can get some really sweet tires. I am on the hunt right now for some nice 28's to get built on my Zipp hubs. These will be shod with 125 gm! Tufo tires. If you decide to go 28/tubular you will have a lighter set-up than most of the pimp, low-count clincher set-ups. Let me know if this intrigues you and I will look for some rims for ya.
