Yup Mitch did awesome in both the race and the sprints!!!!! He was crankin like his little heart was going to explode in the
Gold Sprints!!! He's someone to look for in the future for the win. Good race, all that started finished, no impacts. Party was pretty good, beers were flowing. I just wish they GS had set up earlier. I buggered off about 1:30. OK KEITH..... next GS you and me buddy, too bad we didn't get to go this time. Pictures soon to come, *looks at camera...waiting for someone with a cable to show....I gotta get a new one* |

Something to be said for a place that will allow that... if I forget my lock I can take mine up to my work area as well...very cool. Thanks for that!!

I rode the Ride for Karen on Sunday-charity century ride. It was awesome-really well organized, tons of support, and lots of food. Check it out next year, highly recommended.
I ended up riding to and from the start point for a day total of 220 km. Legs are kind of tired today. |
Why are your legs tired, I thought you were a machine? Kidding man, awesome ride. Was it a little windy outside the city? Next year you say?
|
Actually I raced too, however I overshot one of the checkpoints by quite a bit. Dropped for about 5th to about 15th. The after party was awsome. The last race on goldsprints put all the rest to shame, by beating the previous 23.03 seconds by a full second each.
I loved seeing friends on their real race bikes though. Reminded me I've really gotta get a good geared racer. After the race was a bit crazy, we were all waiting at the finish totally frozen. It seemed none of us remembered to bring sweaters, so those of us that had them were wearing really light rain jackets, and all the racers were shivering cold. Now I'm stuck at home instead of out working because of it, too |

Especially me who managed to make a few $$ from the unsuspecting suckers who didn't know the "Power of Mitch"TM. in the Goldsprints. Good time was had by all. Most of the results are in but they are still awaiting a few cities before posting them online. We had a fairly respectable showing with our top guys finishing in what I believe was the top 10. Cheers again to all the racers and special props to the checkpoint folks. Anyone who wants a Global Gutz spoke card who didn't get one can stop by the shop...I have about 15 left. |
Keith I'll more than likely run a cd by the shop with the pictures in a raw format. I'd love to take another card if possible, just to keep nice.

next race: halloween!
Keith: let us know when you have any details. |
Some pretty good ones, I'm new at the action stuff so *wiggles hand* some good, some sucked, loads of smiles though, and of course I have some of "The Mitch That Could". I'll be cropping and adjusting for a few days. Some nice shots of some of the lads from here. Next races I'm ready ....gonna practice speed shots with commuters. Do we need a card for Halloweens' AlleyCat? Who's organizing that race?

edit: I totally should have worn my winter gloves this morning. brrr. |
So far with 2 cities still to report our winner sits at 20th worldwide. The Hamburg guys had a 30 min and change time...5 minutes faster than us. They must have done the local car racing track with no lights or stop signs....that time is CRAZY fast.
Halloween Race has not "officially" been announced yet but it will be a Jetfuel race. Word on the street has Redbull as main sposor. There will be qualifying alleycat races in other cities with Redbull flying in the winners for Halloween. Knowing Johnny's race style it will be long and gruelling, with many checkpoints. A LeMans start is likely. |
... but with stupid outfits?
... oh ****, I suppose I should go return my rental car at some point (yipes). |

Nice pics TJ.
Vuelta A Espana is coming up this weekend. Seems like OLN is only doing 2 hours worth of coverage from 5-7pm on sunday. Anybody got cable TV we can watch it on and a thirst for beer? I kinda regret not coming out to the alleycat but my ex showed up at my place at like 4:30pm on saturday and in the ensuing 'tying of loose ends' I missed the start and decided to just feel sorry for myself instead. Still, track racing on sunday and I wanna bring out the cyclops. I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch of the racers heading west on bloor afterwards though when I was out to grab a falafel. I was in no condition to race anyways as I still had a brutal hangover and an annoying cold. Oh also lets not forget to spend a moment in rememberance of all the people who were hurt and killed on September 11th, 2001 and also all of the people who have been hurt and killed because of heavy-handed reprisal and retribution since then. http://www.stickergiant.com/Merchant.../250/qw001.gif edit: I saw that CCCP guy go past cyclepath earlier on saturday. That jersey doesn't look as good in person as I had hoped. I like the pic TJ took where his face is almost as red as the shirt! |
Petey does get pretty red sometimes.. That's a few minutes after the finish...he's still flushed.
As well pre-race lactose acid inhibitors contribute to redness..... http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/5936/peteyfi2.th.jpg |
hahahahaha whats up tjammer....nice pics....I look like one a the doodz from Americas most wanted tho ;)
my son wants a helmet like yours!! He says its the best bike helmet hes seen! |
Thanks man, so many darned pics though. I was damned glad to meet you and your son. The helmet can be had from MEC. Stickers and thrash marks not included...
