He then came back about 15 minutes later and stood looking at it for another 3 minutes or so. I was with 4 friends and I am not a small guy anyways, so I continued to give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he was just checking out the neat bike and yeah, he didn't touch it but it is still a bit nerve-wracking having nice things in this city sometimes.
then walking back up spadina about 15 minutes later i stopped again to admire the bike, then realizing if the owner was watching me i probably looked totally suspicious. i take my sweet-ass time admiring bikes.

Always lock your front wheel/seat if it's going to be parked for commuting. Otherwise, well.

almost there
well, thanks to keith i'm finally on my way to riding fixed. after much deliberation and humming and hawing as to what route to take, i've decided to buy a mark v. other than the stem (and a rear wheel to be built by cavernmech), all parts are still to be decided on. hope you can handle all my newbie questions over the next few weeks
unfortunately the bike won't be seeing the streets of toronto as it's heading to BC on wednesday. and it just dawned on me that i'll be bikeless for the next month as my geared bike is also heading there next week
anyhow, thrilled to finally be going fixed!

40 piece?
I spent the afternoon making a SS out of the frame that I used for a year as a fixie, my Colnago Sport. I didn't spend any money except 10 bucks on the stem, everything was just lying around and not being used for anything. The rear wheel is a great old Shimano 535 that I found in a dumpster last year and had new bearings put in and it is nice and stiff, which is perfect for this frame as I found the rear to be a bit spongey. Rode around a bit today and it is great and fast but yeah, that rear brake housing is way too long and needs to be black. I'll do it on Tuesday

i swear i'm not stalking you

You may ask yourself (or may not, depending on a number of factors; none of which really matter or don't matter in the entirety of things) why I'm posting at 6 am on Saturday morning...
A non-chronological and seemlingly random string of occurences and thoughts:
-riding home was so very cold; night temp difference between downtown Toronto and northern York Region are upwards of 10 degrees C
-ooh, city lights: the view looking south from bayview among others
-i used up all my airzound canister today: old man driving nearly pushed me into the curb when I waited in the advance left-turn lane at 16th ave and yonge in markham; at the same intersection, guy in a delivery truck thought it nice to turn left onto 16th ave from yonge on a red (so he took up my advance green time); then there were many zany cabdrivers as well
-riding northbound on yonge between richmond and wellsley was surreal with all the cops directing the congestion caused by drunk revellers;
-pack of harley riders blasted CCR riding along bayview north of John st, in markham
-so much sprawl on bayview, not funny at all
-oh, wes (sonbulantmojo) i thought i saw you on queens quay...but maybe not

Jet Sanchez: Your rear housing looks fine from that angle.

So a quick update on the free bike stuff. I have at least 15 assd wheels in decent shape..road and mtn. A skad of used tires that have plenty of life left in em. There are 2 old cruiser bikes...need some work but would be nice G.F. coffee bikes. There are 4 or 5 road/hybrid frames. There is one with a Nexus hub and shifter on it...needs some love but the hub is in good shape. Several dept. store bikes that need a little love but good for winter beaters. Tons of brakes, bars, pedals, shifters etc. As I mentioned previously the great majority of this stuff is free for the taking (with a small BMEF donation..pay what ya can) a few items...like the nexus bike..I will want a few bucks for...perhaps $15 for this one. Everything I bring in from this purge will go to the BMEF. tell yer friends...yer enemies...This stuff has to go....I am SLASHING prices....you might call me insane but the prices aren't. *end of cheap funiture store commercial shill*
Nooooooooooooooooooooobody! ******slap*
I may be by today for this one - sounds enticing.
