Anybody meeting up today (I can come to a lot more CVs now since I actually live in Toronto, yay!)?

^^^ sounds like an interesting ride for a great cause. $25 registration fee. I'm going to be out of town that weekend, unfortunately.
Here's what one of the FFL co-chairs posted about it on the FFL board:
The purpose of this ride is to raise awareness about an application to establish Canada’s 8th largest aggregate quarry in Flamborough. Remember the lovely Campbellville ride? Well, this quarry will be smack dab in the middle of that lovely scenery. (And no it won't get rid of the hills Smiley)
If this quarry is approved, it will affect cyclists by:
- Increasing the current volume of truck traffic
- The quarry will be open not only M-F but also Sat & Sun
- The proposed number of truck trips is equal to 1100+ per day or 1 truck every 30 seconds
- Location is at Milborough Line/Concession 11, a popular cycling route
- Narrow, non-existent road shoulders and limited site lines put cyclists at risk with the additional truck volume
Tour de FORCE registration of $25 includes:
- 50 or 100 K Route option
- BBQ
- Raffle Prizes and Product Give-aways
- A fun social ride
Deadline for registration August 21st. To register or for more info visit www.stopthequarry.ca

But where will Toronto get its aggregates from? We burn through gravel and sand at a ridiculous rate... As urbanization continues we are only going to be using more, so they WILL quarry that site eventually... Claiming that it will affect cyclists almost seems selfish when considering the ecosystem and drainage network of the area...

Don't click on links if you aren't ready to see anything. Its the friggin' internet, not a kindergarten.
I personally found it hilarious and just for a kid trying to door anyone at speed.

Just please don't link to non-work safe material (porn, blood, whatever) without a warning (for instance NWS). Some of us are at work and could get in trouble. Its kind of a trust exercise... Steeker has been fouling it up so I never ever click on any links steeker pastes anymore.

I would imagine that they write him a cheque for the remainder he is owed for first place, mail him a yellow jersey its accompanying torphy and input his name into the excel file listing the winners. It will also affect his standings on the UCI pro tour. This is not the way you really want to win the tour de france though, or any other sporting event. I assume they will have a little press coverage of him maybe putting on a yellow jersey to please the media, but if I was him I would do my best to avoid it.

Man, I could post some stuff here that would make you go hide in a corner in a fetal position...
But I won't. For your sanity.

Hey Shamil...just a heads up but I found an old pair of Onza pedals in a bin downstairs and they look to have better elastomers than the ones you have now. I will put em aside for you.

Oh The Tainted Tour...... whoa is me. I suppose I knew in my heart it was a question of everyone cheating and not getting caught, but you know how you hold out for a hope that something might still be good? A sign, Shizy, that maybe just maybe my jet black heart still has some colour in it.

If my bike ever got stolen, Igors would be my first place to check.

Igor's..... home of your West-end stolen bikes. At least until they load the van and sell them all in Montreal, followed closely by a new batch of bikes being sold here. I've been told my TrafficJammer Wear should be ready at the end of the week. I'm excited.
