anyone have any opinions on Raleigh technium (road) frames? yes i know that they are a steel / alminum mix and use that bonding treatment in the lugs which is precarious, but i have an opportunity to pick one up for a reasonable price (frame / fork only) and in my size. any horror stories about snapping tubes / lugs or just getting mocked by suckas on the doughnut ride?
speaking of the doughnut ride, i'd bet it would be fun to get a fixed posse to show up for it. i heard speak that this may have been done some time ago but either way i'd like to see how fixies fare against the roadie types... |
haha,
Black Black is so great! man.... I remember I got a pack from a friend who visited Japan. He told me, "Black Black is only avalible in Japan" so I figured it was a souvenir and I stuffed it in my drawer. A week later, I went shopping with my parents at T&T (the BIGGEST chinese supermarket) and I saw a whole box of them for sale.... dang, I felt so stupid. so I went home and chewed half the pack in one sitting.*edit- i'm starting to loose my memory. I just looked in my drawer and I still have one stick left! huzzah!* sigh... btw, cavernmech, I'll drop by on Tues afternoon to check out the shipment of frames. I also should have a wheelset that needs building :) |

Ya, I'm going to try to make it. Seeing as it's about 100 feet away from my apartment and I'm getting a cheque from work tomorrow, I really have no excuse not to show up. The gf is feeling pretty cruddy these days so she might not be in attendance, but I'll be there. If anyone's thinking about showing up ... lemmie know.

10pm****************************************??
That means I can't get home. |
i'm sure you can manage to drink and ride :)
|
Anyways, to follow up on the dented frame.....
I got a package of random stuff to compromise the dent. A bell that fits rite into your bar ends... kinda cool. Got some bars, stem, seatpost, and saddle. Well 2 saddles. One for grandpa bikes and a ti-railed saddle... that ironically also had a dent. oh bummers. Also got an 18t shimano freewheel cog. Well, the package of bike parts is much appreciated and it feels good to know that there are super duper ebay sellers out there. yay. |

|
You know what it's screaming to me?
"Haha, ****er! Your crankset's still busted!" Stupid weather ... mocking me ... oh well, that will get sorted out soon enough. |

yeah, I've been wanting to do that for a while too. I need to get a new coffee maker as well. I've only been drinking espresso at home lately (I've got a couple different sizes of stovetop espresso makers), and my only other option is a Bodum french press. Makes good coffee, but it doesn't help if I need/want more than one cup. :)
I've heard good stuff about Dark City Coffee too, especially for freshness. But I've never bought any for myself. Damnit.. I want to go riding in this weather! Not only am I stuck at work, but I'm having dinner with friends so I stupidly took the subway this morning. I wish I could even just dink around for an hour after work. Oh well! |

Moonbean?! That's way to far! Pick some place closer to my apartment ... that place has got to be at least 30 feet away from where I live.
- eyefloater PS. Okay, I'm cancelling tonight (gotta take care of the missus) and I'll see you all at the Moonbean tomorrow at noon. |
