That usually only happens if you give them your drivers license. When you are asked for ID on your bike, you do not need to produce your drivers license. If you do and you get points, take it to court.

Or so i've heard.

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-06 07:55 PM

They run your name through the laptop in the car, license is listed, NEVER HAND IT OVER, then it's up to the discretion of the officer, so always be polite to the man. lol

I always hand over my ohip card

Its bad enough being under 25 and being insured I don't want to think about what would happen if I had some points on my license.

I got nailed at yonge/bloor for right turn on red last year. That was gay.

just say your not carrying any ID if your biking.

Riding away = resisting arrest. I'll take a moving violation over a felony charge anyday.

veteran_youth 03-20-06 08:16 PM

Shiz we have much to talk about next ride...........

It's funny, I guess you can't really look at someone and guess "hey, you're a Doom fan aren't you?"

Beware the grocer when you press'em with your thumbs though,
See no grocer wants bruised plumbs yo,
Once bruised one time tis forgotten,
And once the plumbs is rotten,
The skins'll cut your gums
At the corner store a sign reads 'for sale'
Plumbskinzz fruit cocktail
Only ones runnin to the corner: pale males
Open all night them corner plumbskinzz is stale

Hah. That's nice until you realize they can hold you until they id you.
And riding away = arrestamania.

I have recieved numerous tickets while riding. Fail to stop...illegal turn....proceed before green...dangerous driving (tha one was riding no-hands on the sidewalk in front of First Canadian Place! . Everytime I have gone to Old City Hall....asked for a Justice of the Peace.....told him the infractions were on a bicycle....and had the points wiped from my driving record. It takes a couple of hours but works everytime. There is some rule that says you can't penalize licensed cyclists when un-licensed cyclists cannot be penalized. I still had to pay the fine tho.

TRaffic Jammer 03-21-06 08:00 AM

sweeeet!!!! You mean they take them off (police) and then put them back on (courts)? Seems to be a round about way of not doing it at all. Seems perfectly ********. Thanks for that information. Now to find the actual law/ruling on the books and quote that the next time it looks like points are coming off.

Now if only they'd not be so angry if you try to bolt.
I was just in a groove officer I didn't know all that was for me. :p

Yeah, the Justice of the Peace is sweet. THe best part about it is the cop isn't their to refute what lies you tell, so you can really lay it on thick. If you make up a good story, you can get away with no fine.
