in another forum there was a post about how many miles you rode last year...so I did the math up to the demise of my old fixie (late july or august) I had close to 3700km's just riding to work (fixed that is) and back everyday (both fixed and geared milage is significnatly more...like 6300km not including weekends).
Also 20 minutes to get to work by bicycle vs. the 45 it takes by subway meant that had I taken the subway to work every day last year I would have spent 2 and a half weeks just sitting on a train doing nothing... 2 and a half weeks of my year just gone, crazy. Now it's going to bother me even more on those rare days when I have no choice but to take TTC....
I'm glad it's warm out and there's now snow.... global warming aspects aside

Now that would be my definition of hell. Imagine 2-1/2 weeks straight on the subway, in rush hour....ouch. I would snap within 4 hours, and fly into an orgy of killing and destruction that could only end with me swallowing my own tongue in a bid to free myself from the sub-terrainian torture fest. That is the kind of thought that motivates me to ride to work when it is -25C.

It's the shop on the South side of Queen St W, right across from Trinity Bellwoods Park. There's always a big pile of bikes outside, and if you go by there at like 11:00pm (especially during the Summer), the shop will be mysteriously "open" and "receiving stock".

I just hope the weather stays mild.

I can't wait for this weekend. I'm actually taking it off for a change. This'll be the first full weekend I've had with the gf to do ****-all in months. I say we meet up at Moonbean and spend the afternoon sipping herbal tea and knitting top tube cosies. Either that, or we get horrendously drunk somewhere. Actually, check that. I'm broke.

If someone made me an argyle, knitted top tube cozy, I'd be really happy.

I'd prefer a nutsack cozy myself, it's going to get cold out there. Argyle would be pretty fabulous.
