I actually made it unscathed just a few minutes after it stopped...I was worrin' before I left though. Quite the light show to wake up to. Got soaked yesterday.

Yeah, I hear ya. I put on full rain gear just in time for it to stop raining. I left it on though -- didn't want to tempt fate.

I left mine drying at work and totally forgot it yesterday, i'm in the shower totally dreading the deluge that wasn't there when I got out. YES!!!!! I have a pair of Gortex riding pants that are storm rated (awesome in the frickin' cold too) , I can't find my booties though. Anyone else wear booties for rain and cold? I may need to buy another pair if I can't find them.

You can never tell if they're going to be good winter/slush riding. I can't find the same ones your riding on. They're pretty good, I have filled the bottoms with snow on a few occasions though.

Rob with a booty..... pretty funny image actually.
Luckily my pants have the dual zipper so I can unzip at the thighs for air.

I got some louis garneau ones (I think) that are great when its the icy depths of winter or a complete downpour, but way too hot to wear otherwise. I had them on this morning and then took them off before I headed out.

New tires are great btw. I should have replaced them sooner. Skidding is way harder now, but easier in the rain for some reason.

We are adding a training ride starting in Rosedale up Mt. Pleasant and across to Forest Hill then up to the Bridal Path for some intervals on Post Rd.

Was wondering if some of you guys are up to the task?

Do not be intimidated by the Dura Ace/Record equipped full carbon rigs, this will be a no drop moderate to fast paced ride. We will swing buy La Bicicletta afterwards to warm up and check out the new Assos winter gear this week.

No Korean buns but we might swing by Pusateri's for some fresh pastries.

Let me know if you are interested.

I'm using these: https://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...=1159975993539

and these: https://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...=1159976027523

Great in the Winter AND in the rain. Keeps me totally and completely dry in combination with my Goretex jacket. Just need to make sure you dress appropriately underneath to avoid the bogginess.

When I'm walking they do, yeah. Everyone in my section of the office knows when I arrive on a rainy day between the noise from my pants and the squishing/squeaking of my wet booties (that's right, I said "wet booties").

So are the pack cloth booties better than the neoprene ones? I need to pick up a pair

Riding on Mt. Pleasant with traffic is brutal... Sounds like a short ride, am I wrong?

Not my preferred road.... I'd rather ride up Yogne.

Well, first of all, neoprene is porous (hence it's use in WET suits). So, it's kind of apples and oranges I think. Neoprene is ok to keep you warm and/or if you don't mind your feet getting wet.

I'm pretty sure that neoprene is waterproof... You get wet in wet-suits because of all the openings and seams. Some wet suits have the closed cell air bubbles in neoprene filled with nitrogen because it adds insulation value (the nitrogen stays there the whole time). If they were pourous (allowing water to filter through it)they wouldn't really be very useful for diving.
