I would still meet him behind the portables. At recess....ITS ON!

Messenger style interval training.....

EDIT nice linkie eyefloater, I may pull that soon.
Keith, I'm really likin' the SS idea for my bike. Stuff is going on it, and I think it'll be cheaper all around if I just do the conversion.
What kind of crank will accommodate non-proprietary rings? Shim needs Shim rings no?

Only one is a '6000$ spidery carbon/DA thingy', the new one is a 'spidery carbon/SRAM Force thingy'.

And I don't come off as an arrogant prick. I am an arrogant prick.

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 07:42 AM

Well if your playin' then the joke is tired and eyefloater's linkie gets another hit.
Come DT and play in traffic with us.

jeremywhitehorn 10-05-06 07:43 AM

maybe a long shot and not really for this forum i know, but does anyone have a wool jersey kicking around that they aren't using and want to trade? because i'm an idiot i ripped a new one when i was trying to stretch it a little after ripping a hole in it while washing it...duh...

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 07:47 AM

Oh man you are not having the luck with that jersey are you? It won't be safe to ride, it's cursed

somnambulant 10-05-06 07:50 AM

Pimp bikes....WOW, you must be really fast.
race results?

Offhoff 10-05-06 07:57 AM

Race results? That would require mixing with "those people"

Is this a typo or bad lanuage phrase.... meaning it/jit is a come on designed to get our goat?

Shiznaz 10-05-06 07:59 AM

I rode into work with a jacket but was too hot by the time I skidded up the stairs of the building.

Good news: My Double Cross came in last night. So incredibly packed, and the bike seems for all intents are purposes brand new. Anybody want to show me some fun trails to take it on this weekend?

PS. the bearings on the chris king wheels haven't even been broken in yet

edit: JIT, it ain't carbon, it ain't got no carbon, and it ain't ever getting any carbon. And it has cantilevers, so find yourself an overhang and cantilever something over it.

2 words...Jack, Pot. The Don has all kinds of good trails. As was mentioned the Lower Don is fun. The Ridge trail is a little crazy for me but Jeremy "The demon" seems to like it. Even if you ride the paved path thru the Don...there are many dirt paths next to the pavement. You can get a good workout doing it all in an aft.

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 08:07 AM

Come DT and play spot-the-parked-car or ride-the-door-zone. We welcome all who claim to ride real rigs.
Great news Shizy wooohooo

Guys who play Urban Assault..... you rock SS for this, mini crankring for torque?

JIT is short form for Junior in Training. Typically an insult used by full of themselves roadies. This guy looks more like a troll every minute.

somnambulant 10-05-06 08:16 AM

Another message from the Bike Chain.. might be good for a larf:

It's your invitation to an Open House at the new BMX Park at Dufferin and Dupont, just south of Zeller's at the Galleria Mall on SATURDAY OCTOBER 21 (weather permitting).

At noon there'll be a barbecue and sessioning of the dirt jumps, pump track and freestyle area.

At 1:30 we'll have a bit of a comp for prizes – best times (ages/experience) and best tricks. Should all be over by 4. Bring your friends – there'll be a few Norco BMX bikes available for use. If you get a chance to ride the park before then and notice something that needs to be fixed (slope angles, jump distances, etc) please let me know so we can get it right. I do hope that you'll like it. Thanks.

Sweet man! I'm excited to see it. If you want to ride the don on Sunday or even Monday afternoon, I'd love to join you. Do you have knobbies on there?

Shiznaz 10-05-06 08:27 AM

yeah, got some Vittoria Cross XG pros on it. They look to be (essentially) new. I just need to pump up the tires, tighten a few bolts and get the saddle height set and I'm ready to roll. Brifters seem kind of fun.

Sunday afternoon I probably can't do because I gotta be clean and presentable for dinner at 6-6:30... If we started earlier in the afternoon it could work

Edit: damn, these tires cost 70USD a pair and weigh 350 grams!

STEEKER 10-05-06 08:43 AM

this junior in train really comes across like one of those tbn jerks ,,,,,,, thanks for the input Cavernmech about the rollers .. Darkmother, are your town and country tires mountain bike tires or road bike tires? ???

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 08:47 AM

Rollers + beers + *cough* = the most comedy you can place in eight square feet of floor

gokiburi 10-05-06 09:02 AM

cam+rob, are you guys still meeting up around u of t? or anyone else for that matter? cam, i'll probably only have time to drop off the tire and take off (trying to schedule a hair cut). :D

Rollers , at least until you get really comfortable on them, require more concentration to ride. The bonus is also that they help your bike handling skills as you have to keep the bike in a straight line else you come off them. Rollers dont offer the same kind of resistance as trainers ( unless you pick up a resistance unit for em) but all and all I think the rollers are a better form of training.
Perhaps the almighty JIT can enlighten us on this.

ok cool, thanx keith...

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 09:20 AM

..and they make a fun noise.
