At least you spelt it right, phew.

P.S Has anyone got recommendations on place to buy winter gear? How are MECs booties? Really waterpoof?

P.P.S This is why Jwhitehorn went to Argentina: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...94024897621695

damn, it was winter in argentina when i went, although now i have a reason to go back in summer. as a whole i was underwhelmed by the women in argentina; brazil, mind you is another story...

Wow, really? I thought I had heard this in the road bike forum but it might have been another site they were talking about. I just checked the stie to see if there was any "fine print" that I missed but the BBs that I bought are not there anymore. Maybe they were offered as B-grade or something and I missed it in the description. I am very happy with the BBs though, they work perfectly and were shipped very fast and also were dirt cheap, I am getting some Michelin Pros from them soon and some 105 brakes too. I don't know how that site makes any money, the stuff they offer is so cheap.

Nice most effective & cheep cause you already had it. The kit i got had a Tensioner in it & broke in 10 seconds had it replaced same thing happened in about same amount of time so i grabbed this http://www.rennendesigngroup.com/products.html witch worked great. Now thinking I could have just used the derailer I had already oh well I am rich (NOT)
Cheers

We all need a break form here time to time when looking at the whole forum. one can only take “pista vs mark v” so much he'll be back its like beer you can only stay away for so long then right back down & dirty ha ha

Same thing in the main forum a bit ago a bunch of names were brought up that left but i see them popping back up time to time!
We all need a break.

I don't know about the pista vs. mark v debate, i never really pay much attention to that. strangely, i never really check the main forum much as this is the only forum that i can claim to actually have met the people that post here (and actually ride with from time to time).

as for the beer, i think i have returned to its evil clutches as i do every winter. in fact just finished a 4 pack of polish lager...

There was some speculation as to where they got there stock from but I don't recall reading anything about them selling used stuff as brand new. I do however remember them selling those campy BB's for near single digit prices.

sr20det 11-06-06 12:08 AM

hey op, what wheelset are you building?
and yea. go for some DT double butted spokes, but don't go for bladed spokes.
They look cool but they are a PAIN to build up.
good luck!

I'm currently debating if I should build up a wheelset during winter break.
something along the lines of mack hubs to ambrosio excellences.

jet sanchEz 11-06-06 12:53 AM

Geez, I forgot how sweet that Marinoni of yours is, sr20, do you ride it a lot?

Hey darkmother, where did you get those wide nitto bars that were on your stolen IRO (RIP)?

Shiznaz 11-06-06 09:17 AM

I almost always bias myself left in the lane when I'm going straight across an intersection, but sometimes due to how I roll up, if there are other cars or bikes or some other factor, I just end up right in the middle of the right lane. The situation I was in on saturday involved me sitting smack in the middle of a one way residential street with parking. Either I'm blocking left turning traffic, or I'm blocking right turning traffic, or I'm shoved up against the curb unsafely. A car was already waiting to turn left, so I pulled up alongside him on the right, and the dude in the tinted prelude pulls up behind me and tries to squeeze by and then starts swearing at me. Am I supposed to unclip, get off the bike, carry it a few feet to the left and then get back on just to save some impateint loser a few seconds and miss my chance to cross the intersection?

Rivendell:

I have another pair on my CX bike. I'm debating ordering another pair for the commuter, they are pretty comfortable.

sr20det 11-06-06 10:23 AM

I only brought my GT to waterloo so I ride that everyday and its getting nicely beat up.
The Marinoni is back in Toronto so its never really ridden. :(

gokiburi 11-06-06 10:52 AM

hey shiz, i'm glad it didn't escalate too far. i agree with what duppy said, you never know how the other person is going to react. fortunately, no one has had a gun pulled on them..i hope. i guess it's best to either leave cars enough space to go through, or no space at all. i was in a similiar situation with an as5cock in a range rover but didn't let him pass. he finally gunned it through an intersection and cut me off.
YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

I am just gonna get it over with and mount a 7 ft wide plastic Honda bumper to the back of my bike and hang a "baby on board" sign off it. That should keep the cagers away shurely.

TRaffic Jammer 11-06-06 10:56 AM

get that roach fixed I wanna see it walk

Bummer. In the notes on Velospace, you mention that the bike has an interesting story, would you care to divulge this story?

keith, that plastic (what, chrome is too heavy on your 53x12??!?) bumper would look awesome on your crusier with handlebar radio and dura-ace.

tj, i can't get the damn thing to animate! SHIZNAZ: HOW DO YOU GET YOUR AVATAR TO MOVE???! does your older user account bypass newer settings?

lymbzero 11-06-06 11:38 AM

Alirght then.. it seems like a bunch of you are wanting to build wheels this winter.

The ambrosio / miche mix I have now is hella dope..
So dope I'm going to build a second set with butted spokes.

Anyone wanna do a bulk order?

Yeah...also a nice neon light kit and an air freshener shaped like a crown. Then I can hang with the modifieds.

Stage 3 was so crazy... All curvy hills. in dark residential streets. I pretty much got lost which was half the fun.

I just pretty much rode this between 12-2am cuz I was REALLY bored on Saturday night.

What started off as a "sole safety meeting" ended up a mini marathon.

TRaffic Jammer 11-06-06 11:58 AM

Your just playin' with that tracking device the gray's inserted in your seat tube aren't you? Getting lost is a blast isn't it?
