Bike Forums - Toronto Fixed

I was thinking about doing this, lacing some 26" rims to miche hubs..
MTB 26" fixed would kind of be fun.

Gearing it super low for Fixed trials.. :eek:

It's not too common. We need to put together a T.O. fixed MTB crew, and hit the Don Valley trails. That's some hilly stuff on my geared coasting MTB. Fixed would be freakish excitement.

I think I'm just going to get a Surly 135mm hub, and lace it to some Mavic 26". Something not too expensive. Though my bike lust says "get the Phills!".

Some of the downhills in there would be tricky... unless you could lock the back and keep it from coming around. It would be fun to try though :)

i think streetcar tracks claim their victims in pairs. wiped out at king/parliament last night but managed to hop free as my bike went skidding through the intersection. no damage to the bike. i spent 20 minutes looking for my damn light before a nice(!) cabbie told me it was halfway down the block in the opposite direction. no idea how that happened. i could've sworn it was ground into powder by all the streetcars that passed.
hey op, i'll need the nishiki back soon for winter..trying to arrange to get you some wheels so you can ride it down.

Which is why I'd only ride a fixed mtb on the street. Too much eco-damage potential with a fixed mtb.

I hear that. I haven't been in there in a couple of years cause it started to get WAY to busy... and the trails were showing it.

Every once in a while, if I go to the fixed forum, and I DON'T see 'TORONTO Fixed' on the first page, I get agitated and a bit anxious. This is merely an attempt to bring it back to page one.

The don is still quality, just not around this time of year because it's just muddy and you slip all over the place.

i do believe it is the aluminum soloist. from what i remember he is a skinny guy, cropped brown hair, black knikers and jacket, no helmet / glasses, white shoes. he is at i deal every time i'm there.

To tell you the truth, it's not even that nice. The BB shell is welded really ass.
The seam is all sloppy. But then again, maybe all BB's were ass welded in the 60's.
BTW. .it's an ITalian BB 70mm.
