The ballet of getting the bike into the tub, would be a bad thing. Then I'd have to mop half the house afterwards. I'll drip dry n the front of the house....I should get a collection mat for the water.

I have brushed the excess snow off and out of the treads with a brush outside in the past. I suppose a new brush needs to find it's way outside now that we have snow. Thanks Offhoff.....nice vid.... I loved the under the deck shot..... what's the durometer of those kyrpto wheels 80-85 for polished crete?

My Ex- said this picture looked dirty.. but I thought I'd share it since the topic came up. Don't mind the CAT-5 cable hanging out the window. That's Ronin's connection. |
Its like an American Apparel ad missing the surprised looking imp.

Duros are all over the place, some people run softer because it takes cracks easier. Sliders use really hard wheels so that they slide easily. For the parking garage racing league it depends if thats weeks race rules state you can pump or not. Pumping boards generally softer wheels then boards you just tuck on. Its like biking, there are good technical reasons to run certain things and certain times but other times its just run what your comfortable on. |

I'm glad to hear that the snow ride was fun, I went out for a mini ride to get to a friend's house last night on my s/s mtb and it was great fun slipping and sliding around. 27th is fine for me if thats the day to head off to the track.

Anyways, I was told to get in touch with Daryl (dwawenger@yahoo.ca), who books and teaches Track 1. I was told that Saturday's are pretty "mental", and the earliest date we could book was Feb. 3rd. As for Teusday nights, those are (obviously) much more open. We could even come out tonight if we wanted to. So, there's some food for thought for the forum. Let's get this ball (or wheel) rolling... P.S. The stupid forum is still asking me to sign in everytime I post its so friggen annoying. I have to click refresh like 10 times to get it to recognize that I am in fact signed in, then it will display my post. |
the idea of washing a bike in these frigid temps scares me! i've heard of frames totally cracking as a result of water freezing... hope you're drying everything well and everything is sealed tight |
There's likely still enough residual salt on the bike to keep any residual water liquid when I go outside. :D

I lock my bikes up in the lobby of my building (only 1 tenant other than myself) and put papers underneath to catch melting crap. Leave a broom by the door to get most snow/crap off before you come inside and there won't be too much mess.
If there is a sunny day, I sometimes hit one of those DIY car washes. You just pay 2 bucks and get the high pressure hose to get out the mess. I myself only worry about salt corroding the steel but yeah, I bet a frame could crack if there was a sudden drop in the temperature. |
isn't there issues with the high pressure hose of things being 'shot' into the bb, headset, etc?

Went for a ride to grab a 14T cog.
Urbane doesn't have any so I got a 15T. :( I don't remember it being so slippery last year. The jacket and layers underneath just make it so annoying to ride. I'm thinking a 28c cycle-cross tire would have a much better time in the muck 26 x 1.95 @ 65 PSI just doesn't feel right. |

I think I need another part time job, maybe even full time as I may end up having to take more time off. I don't want to be living with this knee bull**** for the rest of my life. *sigh* all I want to do is ride pain free.
