Man, what a beautiful day in Mansfield. One race in beginner was too much for Bradyn...he smoked the field and won his first race!...Sport for him next time out. The results were sketchy past that as we were the first heat out and the inevitable first race bugs came out to play. They had me down in 4th but I am pretty sure I was more like 7th. Good Times!
On another note Wes is a slacker......that is all.

getting up at 5:30 am and driving for 2+ hours for 45 minutes of riding seemed like a stupid idea. I don't think I'll be doing any Ocup races unless I sleep over the night before.

Easy there big fella....just a gentle poke in the ribs. If you want to come the night before let me know...that will be the case more often than not. Try an O-Cup isnt till 9:30....Albion is only an hour away. Not that much better but a little.:p

I'm easy.. just sad I didn't get on the trails at all this weekend. Gonna have to do some weeknight rides this week.

I'm up for some mountain biking in the Don this week. I really wish mansfield was still open on non race days though!

So i just got back from a quick ride out to The Beaches and back. On my way there I came up on a couple of bike cops who proceeded to break almost every rule of the road. Random side walk riding, rolling past open TTC streetcar doors, and cutting through a red light to make left turn in pretty heavy traffic - all with no sign of an official "police emergency." I'm no angel but watching these 2 police officers really got under my skin. Wouldn't you expect them to "set an example"? Thoughts?

Once when I was still living in Edmonton I watched a cop patrol car turn on its sirens and lights in order to run a red and pull into a Tim Horton's parking lot. No joke. I almost lost it.

At least these cops were on bikes. Or something.

Looks like fixed bikes are getting alot of press down in NYC lately... real mainstream media seems to have a new "extreme" lifestyle sport to pimp...

You may want to think about that one. You don't have a lot of options for setting up log jumps etc. and skidding the rear is pretty enviro-unfriendly, particularly on descents where erosion can be a problem. I'm in the (slow) process of building up a ss and I'm up for taking it out as soon as it's done.

If by offroading you mean, riding on slightly rought pavement than yeah :) You guys look like you had a lot of fun at London. I still gotta do Track 2! Who's James Lee?

we were about to tun into kensington off of dundas and the damn spindle just sheared at the bolt and I went down with half a pedal still clipped to my foot!

PS, FYI, I was on a ride with duppy yesterday and within about 10 minutes a guy in a car wanted to fight with me. He called me a champion!
