Thought this might be useful. You can fax it in so it's easy peasy.

First complaint gets the driver a letter. Third and they get a personal chit-chat with the cops.

That is absolute GOLD! I am gonna print that out and put it on the counter in the shop.
"No Comeuppance!" I beg to differ.

I_bRAD 03-01-07 08:56 AM

I can't figure out if Toronto police is participating in this program... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to fax the form to them either way.

zippered 03-01-07 09:08 AM

hmm. the website is copyright 2005, but i've never heard anything about it. on the form it says to drop it off at a police station, then on another page it says you "can also fax it", which seems contradictory. it would be nice to get more info, specially in regards to the toronto area. you are required to include your personal info, so as to avoid "abuse" of the program, and that it will be kept "confidential", but who knows.

i noticed you can report a bicycle too, by the way. though without a license plate, how could the person be ID'd?

(if it sounds too good to be true...)

I_bRAD 03-01-07 09:18 AM

It's current. I found out about it 'cause I saw it advertised on the side of a bus in Mississauga this morning.

The person on the bike might be identified by distinguishing tattoos. :p

So far I've filed but one "agressive driving" report.

Against a cube truck driver who chased me through an industrial area of Markham screaming profanities and death threats.

I guess it takes a lot to get a rise out of me these days.

Under my top tube I keep a portable pump, but now that you've got me thinking I think I need to carry one of those mini baseball bats. How great would it feel to get cut off, pull out the bat and smash a few windows as you ride by.

As a nice addition, you'll learn how to ride REAL fast after smashing the windows. So it has exercise benefits too!!

Having to worry about what you wear (full face helmets and colourful jackets come to mind) what kind/colour bag you wear, the route you regularly ride and having to watch over your shoulder are all unfortunate benefits to this as well.

Drivers want to get 'mano a mano' with me all the time. They are freaking brainless idiots. I hate fighting and people who like fighting. So stupid and pointless. What the hell does fighting prove? Who's a better fighter? whatever...

Being able to beat someone senseless is unequivocal proof of being in the right. " I know I made an illegal left hand turn into a one way street and took you out, but I have now pounded the snot out of you. Game, Set, Match"

Rob are you still looking for wheels? I have a narrow MA40 rear you can have. Not a full set, though.

Rob needs wheels? How about a pair of Campy Victory hubs on Ambrosio Super Elite rims? Vintage goodness in great shape. Thread-on road. 36 hole. Cheap. P.M. me if you like.

Off topic -- because this thread is ALWAYS on topic! :)

Has anyone checked out http://www.conservapedia.com/ ? It's the 'correct' wiki. The founders thought "what would Jesus wiki?" and they decided that this was the stuff. It's a great site because there are a set of heathens who have decided to mess with the religious history teachings of the site, so it's fun to read about random facts inserted in the bible stories.

The hard part is to make your additions stick.
