Yup, I'm the one doing it. Not on a fixie though, sorry guys. I'm trying to get a thread put up about the ride. I think it should be pretty good. Check it!

As promised, here are my pics for the brand new "used to be a POS Schwinn" frame. I'm pretty impressed.

It all started as this old guy. Ugg!

Luckily when I bought it, it was already stripped down. So I could see the potential.

Now, I jsut got it powder coated at spectrum,a dn painted on my own decals, adn she's off to the races. Now if I only had some wheels.

Meet my new ZEROSPEED

Hope you like it

gah.. my urbanite fork keeps getting rustier and rustier.. any suggestions? Should I just say fuggit and try and figure things out when the weather improves? Or is there anything I should be doing now? I'd never planned on this bike staying particularly pretty, but having that pretty shiney fork get rust spots all over it isn't what I wanted either!

How old is the fork? The chromed steel shouldn't rust that easily.

some rust removal tips from,
jet sanchez: I got rust off of my chrome fork with a bit of furniture stripper.
cavit8: Damp tinfoil (shiny side) will get the rust off. Then use some autowax on the fork to keep it shiny. It'll dry hard and help protect.

d'oh. I totally forgot about those suggestions. I teh suck.

0perator: because Richmond Hill is so affordable? Dude.. I'm from Newfoundland.. nowhere within 100km of the GTA is going to be that cheap.

Hey, is anyone doing Critical Mass this Friday? I haven't gone since the Halloween ride, so I was considering it... Not totally sure if I can make it yet, but just wondering if anyone else is gonna be there.

Oh hey, I forgot to mention it but you should really wax your frame before you build it up. I noticed that on my lighter coloured frame that scuffs really show up unless you wax it. I know you have a black frame but it still couldn't hurt, I have two black powder-coated frames (from Spectrum too) and they also got waxsed. I think I used Turtle car wax or something similar. Cheers.
