Wow, that Cyclops is hot, how light is it? And yeah, Sneaks is pretty much the best for burritos and beer, aside from La Hacienda on Queen. I like how dirty Sneaks is and how treacherous it can be....watching the ceiling bounce up and down from the dancers on the second floor gives me an adrenaline/fear rush ;)

gokiburi 03-09-06 12:28 PM

wow shiz.. sweet cyclops.. sweeter lugs. from high-tech to old school, i'm glad you saw the light! it doesn't look quite as big as your spicer. i'm assuming it fits fine though?
dead or alive, you're coming with me.

If you're looking for rain pants (you'll need them this weekend) MEC's Cyclone pants are fantastic. The rain will run down your legs and on your shoes, so wear shoe covers too (probably too dorky for you fixie dudes) but that combination has kept me dry and happy on many long tours. Nothing else at that price point comes close, though you can find similarly priced shoe covers w/o all the ugly reflective crap.

I'm a computer programmer... I live for dorkiness. Function usually beats form. :)

I just don't know if those shoe covers will fit over my shoes.

Ever since the day they asked me and my buddies to leave because we smelled bad (we were coming back from a long ride) I swore I would never set foot in that place again. Did I mention my significant other works at Dees? Gotta love the staff discount.

cavernmech 03-09-06 01:47 PM

Oh.......Not only am I out of stock on Miche hubs right now.....I usually sell em for $150 a pair. $80 a pair is less than wholesale. Grab that $#!t The new ones come with 15mm nuts tho ...so....you know.....the extra $70 is worth it.

gokiburi 03-09-06 02:29 PM

$80 per PAIR********** that can't be right.... i'm coming up if it is. :D
keithy, i thought 15mm is preferable to 14 cuz it's more common? not that there's any problem finding a 14mm cone wrench..

Man....either that place has changed, or you were pretty stinky!:) I spent way too many of my formative years at Sneaky's (shows, doesn't it?) and they never kicked me out, even though they probably should have. One time my buddy and I were drinking there late one night, and he passed out on the table. The waitress still served us one last pitcher of beer for the road. Now that's classy!

yikes keith, sneaky's doesn't have the best aromas to begin with..not sure what that says about your bo! besides, who can smell much after a couple of pitchers and taco breath?

somnambulant 03-09-06 03:49 PM

I'm hungry for beer and dirty nachos NOW, damnit.

32flavours 03-09-06 04:22 PM

Is it too much to ask for some sun? I'm digging this 11 degrees business, but really.

operator 03-09-06 04:30 PM

Computer programming AHA.

Weather forecast says 8 on Saturday with rain possible in evening.
The last time I rode through heavy rain was on my way back from St. Catharines, I was literally soaked through so much I didn't care if I got any more wet. Epic ride - 120km.

sr20det 03-09-06 04:39 PM

aww shiat... time to get a life. :(

No No. La Hacienda was the place that shunned us. They don't exactly have a floral bouquet going in that dump either.

Now Dees......Well some of my fondest drunken memories come from there. I know the whole staff as well as them sponsoring our team last season.

So, what do you say we meet someplace at 12:00 (say, for coffee) and go for a bit of a ride and wind up at Sneaky Dee's? I'm teh suck at coming up with routes though, so if anyone else wants to handle that..? Obviously we can just ride "stream of conscience" as well and just go whereever. Which will probably mean downhill and with the wind. ;)

i usually just let my legs get wet while wearing some sort of quick-drying pants, full fenders keep the spray back from the front wheel to a minumum. and keep your feet dry.

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-09-06 05:41 PM

Hey, who did I run into at Bikes on Wheels today? I totally forgot the name

Shiznaz 03-09-06 05:49 PM

Well... I was at bikes on wheels today, but I was the only one in the shop at the time save one of the guys who works there who came out from the back. If thats you then wicked!

And this cyclops frame will fit me well... its got a nice long seat tube but a shorter top tube. My Spicer has a longer top tube, but it is in fact too long and I have to use a short 80mm stem to make up for it. So the Cyclops with a proper 100-120mm stem will be just the ticket

No, I'm over a little ways from Cycletherapy's old shop, Curzon and Dundas St. E. I'll pass on the durian thanks. :D

Confused. I'm sure if the person had said his user name was shiznaz I would have remembered that for sure. I asked the guy (because he was riding a green fixie with a top bar protector) are you on bike forums? And then chatting followed.

It would seem that there were more than one BF'er in the store. Creepy, we're everywhere, and we don't even know it. I could have been the guy that came out of the back though. There were only two of us working.

I have a feeling that this is going to turn into another mess like 32flavours started, trying to figure out who everyone is. Let the destruction begin!

sr20det 03-09-06 06:53 PM

let the toronto BF photo-gallery BEGIN!

It's early March. Take what you can get. :)

32flavours 03-09-06 07:02 PM

I know, I'm greedy. It's supposed to be partly sunny on Saturday though. Let the games begin! Although I will probably suffering with my textbooks indoors.

Shiznaz 03-09-06 07:26 PM

I was the guy with the blue fixie who was looking for a 54cm used road frame for my girlfriend and I was told by whomever I was talking to that I should go see George at Parts Unknown to see a bianchi he had.

TRaffic Jammer 03-09-06 07:31 PM

oh oh names to faces time...... should we have a secret finger symbol for BF? oooooh our own gangsta signs....what fun...hahahahahaha

Shiznaz 03-09-06 07:36 PM

Just go around asking people "Are you fixed? Wanna ride with me?"
