Yeah, I don't think I will order from Nashbar again....I've had a bunch of stuff come in from ProBikeKit and there have been no extra duties or any other fees and they have been very straightforeward. The stuff I ordered from Nashbar (105 brakes and some tires) were really cheap but they were not upfront about the "handling" fee, which leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.
What a crappy night it was, this little bit of snow shouldn't have caused much damage but I really didn't feel like getting out there on my bike, just to spite the nice weather we had last week. I see that it is supposed to be 16degrees by Thursday though, that should hopefully be the final nail in the coffin for winter!

Somehow the bike I bought on ebay 4 years ago only cost me $15 in duties from N. Carolina. There seems to be no fixed rate for some reason from the states. Sometimes the fishing stuff I get gets hit, other times not. Weird.
On another note, whats the take on grabbing a frame left outback of a bikeshop? Free for the taking?

Aaanyway,

If it's left out behind a shop it's garbage. If it's left out in plain view it's probably because someone at the shop knows it's worth taking and they're leaving it out for someone who will appreciate it.
I'm starting day #4 of not smoking ... I think I'm past the "zombie rage" stage at this point.
Funerals are the ****ing worst, Rob. Try to think about the good aspects of your friend's life and you'll get through the feelings of loss, anger, etc. as well. It just has to happen and it'll be as long a process as it takes. Someone will say something callous in the future that sets you off, something trivial will remind you of your friend and you'll have a pathetic emo moment but eventually you'll get to the point where there's a balance between remembering the person, being glad for the time they were in your life and feeling ready to move on.
If you'll excuse me, I have to go merchandise my spring bookings now. *wee*

I’m sure this will not be an issue but, make sure there are no rotating fans running to scrape paint off our friends down tube. Haha
Cheers

however, we rode home from bloor and kipling last night (via side streets and the lake) and it didn't get too dirty. the snow wasn't too deep, and just nicely powdery so the slicks cut through well. had to take it pretty slow cuz my brakes weren't working well, and since i had to flintstone it a bit the plates on my shoes got iced making clipping in a challenge... no big deal, but i'm sure looking forward to the equinox!

Ordered approximately $250 worth of stuff with a friend and we split the $30 dollar duties and custom charges. Not too bad considering how cheap some of the stuff we got were. Like a fox jersey made of Merino for $30.

[QUOTE=zippered]yeah, i washed my bike on thursday... whoops!
there is a girl that comes to CM whom cleaned her bike like you did but made the mistake of locking it up next to one of the BIG garbage bins in Kensington Market that are covered with posters, someone came by and and water jetted the bin clean and left her entire bike covered in little white flakes that were stuck on like glue

While I was in the US we went into Target and there were some fücked up bikes there.
check out the bars on this one.

Hmmm, what's wrong with this one?

Lol Stem shifters. $150 USD. I guess that would be a good bike to SS and beater conversion...
Also can anyone help me find one of these:
3ttt mutant quill with removeable faceplate

Black or silver, preference in that order. Or the 3ttt motus?

I could have sworn I saw some yesterday on Ebay. It's an actual store in Buffalo called Techno something.
edit: ignore! I was just looking at stems. Not quill stems.

I used to log my km's under bikejournal bikeforums team - but stopped since last year. I don't even bother carrying a computer anymore, find myself looking at it too much.
