Those are nice but I like the Shimana ones better.

Last time I checked, duppy only had silver spokes, cranks, pedals and bars and chain left. The spokes might be hard to enamel, but the cranks (and bars) would be pretty easy to paint or powercoat. Get a white KMC chain, and white look pedals and you're ready to go. You still need to get a white saddle though... in fact, you might as well get the seatpost, stem and hubs painted white at the same time. Robin has a white headset he might be willing to part with as well. I have a Colonel Sanders outfit you can wear as well.

Are you riding in or driving? If you are driving up, come by and grab some clubs, I'm a 3 minute drive from the Pottery Rd. entrance.

Not interested in a ride? PM me your address. I'll give you a call if I'm gonna drive.

Re: Campagnola - Dude, sweet fixie! I love the full Super Bee group!

On a completely unrelated note, I adjusted the handlebars on "The Tos" today and now my out-of-the-saddle sprinting feels *perfect* ... that is all.

Repainting the sexy beast today, so no ride tonight.

Congrats on the work thing, and that'll happen once you start looking for that crazy man.

Let that be a lesson kids...if you can't be an athlete....be an athletic supporter.

Thanks... I think it took about a month or so. I dremelled off a bunch of excess bits and cleaned up the handful of minor surface rust spots. After sanding off most of the original paint (over a bunch of evenings) the frame got a good priming, 2 coats of charleston green, and 2 coats of "satin" non gloss clear coat for a matte finish. With the exception of the clear coat sagging a little around the BB it turned out pretty nice for my first try at all this painting stuff.

The hardest part was giving the BB and headset some needed TLC and having a garage helped with all the painting fumes :)

The wife even told me she was impressed at how nice it ended up.. always a good sign!

Shiznaz 05-23-07 07:30 PM

yesterday I saw this tall blonde athletic young lady riding no hands on her brakeless track bike at surprising speeds through traffic. She was wearing what looked like a paisley full length skirt. It was a special moment for me.

PS. keith, any word on the rear brake? I found a source for decent ones...

canice 05-23-07 07:56 PM

too bad about the paisley (gag)

It's so much easier for women. Not only do you have FAR more selection, but you also have the ability to keep your wits about you. I practically lose my mind and just fall over anytime I see an attractive young lady on a bike. Seriously, girl bike geeks are the absolute best. Christ, I'm swooning and I don't even have anyone in mind at the moment.

Edit: remember the Campy girl craigslist posting? I had MULTPILE customers come by the shop and mention that.

canice 05-23-07 09:44 PM

i dated a bike messenger for a while, and while it was nice to have someone to ride with all the time, the whole bike punk thing was a little too over the top. something about watching him grease the chain though....

it would be nice if my current boyfriend rode though. he drives everywhere, and when we're walking around, he points at every bike that goes by, mocking me and going, "FIXIE?!" :(

Hmm... Looks like you have a real winner there... :p

Does he run out of breath when you guys go for a walk?

j/k

canice 05-23-07 10:12 PM

he's probably in better shape than me... goes to the gym and lifts weights 6/7 days. used to be a skater so he hates all bikes.

operator 05-23-07 10:45 PM

we shoudl beat him up
