it worked surprisingly well: we put our bikes against one tree to block off one end, and a poncho at the other end and it became like a little cocoon.

I went down to Riverdale park with the lady to watch a friends ball game the other night and my lady and I jokingly started to ride up that crazy hill - with her basically challenging me to try and ride up it. Totally blew my mind - and hers as well - when I took a few super deep breaths and exploded up the hill - on 46x16 fixed w00t! Made it to the top in what felt like a record time and was crazy fun. Who's up for uphill sprints!? Ps. - Bicycle Specialties pics on the blog: http://www.thereisnobunny.com ;) |
You made it up that hill at 46x16? Hats off to you, Sir. I find it challenging enough at around 32/16 (going straight up by the stairs). :P
edit: that's obviously a guess of the gear I'm in on my mtn bike.. I'm not running 32/16 fixed. :) |

EDIT: Also I am going to be in TO in the next few weeks to pick up an under the weather bag, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on shops I need to check out. The highlight of fixed gear in the lbs's here is a kona paddy wagon, so if there is anything exciting around I'm up for it. |

Ps. - Bicycle Specialties pics on the blog: http://www.thereisnobunny.com ;) That hill is nuts, I'm not sure I'd even try it... but the other night we rode the Don trail and ended up at that hill by the main parking area just after the bridge that puts you out on Thorncliffe (c'mon, y'all know it) and I did that at 46x15 and everyone I was with was probably in the same range... we all made it but it was pretty rough! |

$200 Al cervelo frameset on CCC. 56cm. 2001. One-off for the Jet Fuel team, according to the seller. I'm still on the hunt for one of their low-run steel frames :) mmmm.. renaissance / superprodigy.

no big U brake with a Gorilla grip brace on it? ^^^old idea with new application^^^

Sam you still around? Does anyone know if UTW does bag repairs. Mine is falling apart in non-essential areas.

Op,
Re: Break-in, (s)he/they had proper locksmith's tools and opened up multiple locks on multiple doors. They've been going around the neighbourhood breaking into various places - earlier on in the week was a friend's vet clinic. Luckily, they're idiots - they took the first bke on the rack and not the one worth 3x that amount hanging on the wall. Anyway, the shop's secure now so **** them and life goes on. |
