Yeah there was a dude riding a black one of those at CM last month.

I can't wait to have a garage so I can get a hiwheel. Although in the back of my head I do think I could get cocky and do this.

Funny you should say that Dr. As I was traipsing around San Francisco today I came across a hi wheel in need of some TLC. Too bad it wasn't a "plane friendly" type of purchase. Would have been interesting trying to get it through customs in my carry on .

Bikes: 2006 Lemond Tourmalet; 198(?) Gardin mid-fixie conversion

The Halton Police Auction is this coming Saturday in Oakville, and includes "over 140 bicycles".

Not sure if this will be any good, but maybe a good place to pick up a frame for a fixie conversion? The toronto city auctions are usually a bust as the good frames get scoped out beforehand and snatched up quickly..

There is a U of T prof who rides one of those. Love the hi-wheel tho. There is a guy in Vienna who makes modern hi-wheels. They are sick. I got to try one when I was last there. I miss the Old Time Bike Races they used to do at the Win-Del Velodrome every other year. Folks would come from as far as Florida to "compete". Compete is a strong word as everyone just kind of puttered around the track. It takes some confidence to ride 8 feet off the ground while hitting the banking. Good times indeed.

Bikes: spicer fixie, Haro BMX, cyclops track, Soma Double Cross, KHS Flite 100

also at BCE place they have a little exhibit with various different concept drawings and mockups for the waterfront revitalization project. I was pretty disappointed by all of them, but they are a far sight better than whats there now. Worth a look if you're in the area.
