Sorry for the short notice...but Its really important that I have this bike before I leave

Check this: http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/404649821.html

Gorgeous sounding Jamie Roy *drool* - if I had the green, I'd certainly make it my scene.
If not, try and buy there. Good luck.

Edit: just noticed your cost restriction, too bad... that could be tricksy business.

Subject: Tino's Guerrilla Super 8 Bike Film Screening - This Sunday!
From: "Martin Reis"

Message:
This Sunday, I will be hosting my first 'Guerrilla Super 8 Bike Film' Screening.
Hope you can drop by.

Armed with a big solar-charged battery pack, a Super 8 projector, a New Super 8 Bike Film and some original music by Tomasz Ciesla, I will be screening my new bike film for the first time. Disclaimer: This is 'Guerrilla' style. Swoop in, project film, leave. The whole thing will take 15 minutes, tops. No worries, I will do others in another place, another time ...

Details: Meet Bellevue and Nassau, Kensington Market.
Sunday August 26. 21:00 Hours. Sharp.
So what will you see? Something beautiful.

Note: This screening is not part of the Bicycle Film Festival (really) but certainly in honour of Benny Zenga, Todd Parsons, CineCycle, Charlie Prinsep and all those who ride ...

Note to self: go easier on the liquid sugar next time you order an iced americano.

I don't know about a good ol'boy coverup but there sure isn't a lot of detail to the story, is there? I guess that maybe there is still an investigation underway so perhaps the police are not giving anything away just yet; lets hope that is the case and that there isn't anything under-handed going on.

i think because it was on the transcanada and outside of brooks municipality, it's probably being dealt with by the RCMP (who also serve as alberta's provincial police).

Someone email Alex McCuaig and let him know he's a ****ing moron. Damn straight we caused traffic to slow to a crawl. I mean, we can even take credit for the traffic problems we didn't even cause! Note to ******bag, if you have nothing better to say, shut your ****ing trap. Why is it that all reporters seem to lack integrity these days.

If I ever see this guy in real life, i'm sure he's a ****ing ******bag.

P.S Thanks for stopping by Wes.

Amazing!
Reading this today caused me to visit Mos' site today at work - I was surprised to see that he was putting out another record and unfortunately not surprised to hear that it sucks... Then I put on Black on Both sides and all was right with with the world. What the **** happened to this guy? Seriously! Black Star? Classic. Universal Magnetic? Classic. Black on Both Sides? Classic. The New Danger? Wackarnolds! True Magic? Wackarnolds! It's all down hill from here folks...

sweep242 08-25-07 06:43 AM

I’m up to my eyeballs in kids already!

nerdsgirth 08-25-07 09:23 AM

Sweep you a teacher? Represent.

nerdsgirth 08-25-07 09:26 AM

Does anyone want to grab a coffee before movie day? fiftytwo, seventy, twentysix, seven. Good luck to our homies at the 24hr race this weekend. Wish I could be at this one.

jet sanchEz 08-25-07 09:28 AM

I loved Mos back in the day too and wish he didn't suck now but I have to say that amongst all of the rappers-turned-actors, he is by far the best. His turn in the Guide was pretty good and he was good in 16 Blocks as well and his new one looks to be very good and even though I cannot stand Jack Black, I think I will see this as I liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, who is the same guy who directs this:

So ... Toby bailed? Details?

I'll be at the Klunkers screening @ 3pm today.

zippered 08-25-07 10:34 AM

i was debating going to the pedal screening but i guess i've managed to dawdle too long. i'm not a fan of movie-theatre-going... can the film be rented or somehow obtained for a smaller group screening?

groouuup screeeeninggg

edit: race? crash? wtf?

He had a collision with a "commuter", only ego damage I think ;) Thankfully he was wearing a lid.

its true...I got a couple of other albums he did after Black on both sides...they are cool...but i mostly listen to talib kweli or commons new stuff...the last few albums by them have been cool...have you heard MURS? 9th wonder produced him recently...and get little brother...their albums are wicked as well...mostly underground cats...can pass around some current stuff on a cd if any of you want to hear some real hiphop.

Yeah as of midnight last night he was doing ok... good enough for gold sprints

evoke0ne 08-25-07 05:12 PM

Alright...Pressures on...I need a single speed bike by Tuesday.

Budget $350 or under I want it to be fg/ss (flipflop), I kind of want it to be running 700c tires...

Im leaving right away to DAL, and I need, really NEED something before I leave.

Thanks! Private sales are great, even if you tell me who to call it would help.

jet sanchEz 08-25-07 08:40 PM

That is a pretty low budget, I've seen flip/flop wheelsets go for $200 on CL, a complete bike is going to be way more than that. Try Bikes on Wheels or Set Me Free, they sell used bikes, you might get lucky. I saw a converted Cannondale at Uncle Jacob's the other day and he wanted $600 for it....total ripoff but if even Uncle Jacob is getting into it, the trend must be getting big.

Maybe buy a road bike and convert it into a single speed? That is what I did with a nice old Shimano WH535 wheel that I found in a dumpster....buy and old roadie on CL and you can do it fairly cheaply/easily:
