I doubt the guy from the video is a clown, or in anyway inferior to any of us. His ARGUMENT is game, he should not be. You don't know him, I assume, and I certainly don't. He has done nothing wrong, he just expressed a view, with which I strongly disagree, he also happens to lack a radio voice, but that does not make him a clown or deserving scorn.
If you care about this forum posts because of their utility to you, that's fine, but behind the pseudonyms, and noms de net and the joking and mocking, we are all people, and unless provoked, there is no reason to attack anything but each other's arguments. The argument you can cut, chop, and fricasee if you want, but it is always a good idea to respect someone who is rescpectful. Of course, when someone opens fire, it's fair to return fire, but that is best not done in a moderated forum. That's what unmoderated ones are for.
I am not telling you what to do, or mean to criticize you, this is only a reply to your "Not really."
I gues Kim's husband cares about what Kim does, and I believe his life to be extremly real, and really good.

That's the longest run-on sentence I have read in a long time.?

Learn the difference.
It's never long before the insults start. Usually from someone who is out of ideas and has nothing to contribute. Wrong venue fellow. If you want an eye-poking contest email me, I will be happy to oblige, but here is not the place. This was a happy thread until...

Actually, my objection to BOTH Kim K and the guy with the YouTube video is that they both have claimed a forum and a right to broadcast preach to others that they did not earn on the basis of any sort of meritorious credential. They have the right to their opinion, but I certainly have just as much of a right to not give them the bandwidth of my attention span.

I wasn't and am not giving time to either of them - and I didn't watch the video, nor do I watch anything having to do with Kim K. I'm giving time to this online community for the aforementioned reasons of knowledge sharing and community of folks with common interests. I merely mentioned them each as examples of stuff/people not worth caring about.

Yoy ARE blind.
What is the marine or aquatic fish group name equivalent to those Internet critters who derive their sense of importance from finding people's typos? Remind me, please. Is it, bottom feeders?

It seems to be a Hollywood truism that when it comes to increasing fame, good or bad matters little as long as people continue to talk and write about you.

You shouldn't disagree. I REALLY don't know anyone who buys expensive bikes and does not ride them. I have no incentive to lie to you. I am not saying such people don't exist, after all this is a big and sometimes weird world.
If some rich guy buys a dream bike and discovers that he does not like the bike or riding and sells it, I can see that happening, but that is not the same as someone buying and keeping expensive bikes and not riding them, just like some guy from Baltimore I met, a businessman who had a staggering guitar collection (I met him when I sold to him one of my axes), he asked me to play it for him, to hear how it sounded, because he could not. The guy was into guitar porn, but I know nobody into bike porn like that.

Except they get compensated based upon views, and clicks. And I do neither when it comes to anything about them.

Got it. Yes, since I imagine that people that you bike with are true to cycling, there are ton of people that are buying because, " They want to get into it." Some have deeper pockets than commitment.

At least I have written full posts about cycling in this thread regarless of your rude interruptions. You on the other hand, are here only to attemp mockery and you are doing a very poor job of it, as the bottom feeder you are. Go take a ride, or even better a hike.

Maybe OP is upset because he didn't see the video before signing on the line?

I just had a flogging by "Funnzie" the author of the video at hand, who took exception at the comment I posted about his video in YouTube, along the lines expressed here. I wrote him a rejoinder.
He does not know me but assumes I am a novice rider and lack any riding skills. All he knows about me is that I disagree with him, so in his mind disagre-with-Funnzie must equal "lacks-skill." How convenient.
It never ceases to amaze me the easy appeal of bad ideas, and how many agree with him and take the time to thank him for having saved them thousands.
Man, if you are not going to splurge on that which you enjoy when you are not working, what then?
I understand that lack of money puts contrains on your choice of hobbies, and it's true that an inexpensive bike can be thoroughly enjoyable, but the argument does not logically extend to wasting money if you buy an upscale bike and you don't race with it.
Anyway, the Dogma is incredible. I used to have an Pina FP3, which was destroyed in an accident, and I thought that was pretty good, but this is in another class.
Bike on.

His argument is just like the debates with mechanical watches. Yes, my little $40 Russian Vostok Komandirskie only is slightly less accurate than a $10,000 Rolex, but why would I tell people to get the cheaper watches? Watches are about the feel of them, not just the value which is the same with bicycles. Any $10 digital watch would be more accurate than any mechanical. If it makes you happy, go ahead, buy it, and enjoy it!

I saw that video before buying my fancy-pants expensive bike; and I had come to the same conclusions as the guiy in the vid.
I acknowledge that a light bike means little to a recreational rider such as myself....but it's nice having a cool bike!
As far as my rides? I had just as great rides 25 years ago on a BSO I resurrected from the garbage; but now, I can also enjoy the niceties of a well-crafted bike. Why I chose to get a fancy bike, when I don't indulge in extravagances in other areas of my life? I don't know. Maybe because riding is my only real hobby that I spend any money on, and I spend a lot of time on my bike?
Or maybe it's because a bike is like a tool; and I do knowe the value of buying good-quality tools!
