This Gyr was accustomed to being the top dog. There was a report of him stealing a Red-Tail's dinner one day, and another report of him chasing a Bald Eagle from a hunting spot he was working.

Jim's my partner who's more about riding bikes to dinner than riding for exercise. I've been giving him **** for a couple of weeks now that he needs to start riding with me, yesterday he finally went. Didn't want to wear spandex or anything and after the first 5 miles he was sweating so bad he couldn't keep it out of his eyes, so I was able to get my jab in..."see, people wear bike things for more than just looking cool."

Also be sure NOT to use that self-starting charcoal, or to start your charcoal with starter fluid. How people can use that toxic stuff around food they're going to put in their body is beyond me.
A chimney starter is just as effective.

The tri bike thing was really fun, as I posted previously. It was basically a 34 mile TT. I went out a little too easy but still rode 1hr 40min at 95% FTP. Technically there were some issues, but it was a really good ride.
I saw a lot of nice bikes and found a lead on a Felt for sale.
And finally decided against the Death Ride today. It would probably be fine, they are saying air quality is good. But I'm still a little worried about breathing in dust, ash, and flame ******ant. Its just not worth the small risk, I'm all fired up about this TT stuff and don't want to wind up with a lung thing and then wind up off the bike.
To my surprise, I started floating the idea of a Claritaville Death Ride around 24 hours ago and I have four takers already. We're going to ride from the Santa Clarita Valley to the San Fernando Valley, then up to Mt Wilson, then along Angeles Forest Highway to Aliso Canyon and back home. 125 miles and 12k feet of climbing. That will be plenty epic, its a happy compromise.

do i wanna be a cheap bastard or do i want smaller gaps in gears? do i need an 11t? so many feels.

After being slowed down by a minor injury this week, I sense a week of many miles ahead.
