Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We live 7 miles NE from a plant that was originally a distillery and then became a corn products facility. You could smell corn flakes or Fritos a lot in the morning. Now, it's some sort of corn energy plant like ethanol or something and we can't smell anything anymore.

Anyway, when it was a corn products facility, I'd walk out to get the newspaper and inhale my breakfast at the same time.

There is a factory that smells like baking cookies at around mile 20 on my Wednesday group ride.

My home town has an ADM malted milk facility. It makes the whole town stink.

I once worked right across the street from the biggest and best bakery in Rockland county. Man, the aromas coming from there all day were tortuous!

Yes, for exerting force with your upper body. Standing puts all the strain on your back. Plus it is crazy unstable. You know, standing up in a small boat and all that kind of thing.

Fritos...mmm....

Up in Flagstaff they have the Purina dog food factory. That smells awful.

Also, on my commutes in the morning I pass a diner that always smells like bacon. It's hard not to stop.

Kneeling is bad for your knees.

In my working life I used to call on M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ for technical assistance to our sales folks and technical support of the customer. The entire area of the town and for several miles in any direction smelled of milk chocolate. I could never decide whether it was good or bad. Too much of a good thing. It was nice, though, that they offered small bags of M&Ms in all of their waiting areas and conference rooms for their visitors.

If you want maximum progress for minimum work, get a chauffeur.

Also, I expect that proper technique helps SUP Paddle Technique - SUPGuide.com
