I once worked right across the street from the biggest and best bakery in Rockland county. Man, the aromas coming from there all day were tortuous!

Yes, for exerting force with your upper body. Standing puts all the strain on your back. Plus it is crazy unstable. You know, standing up in a small boat and all that kind of thing.

Up in Flagstaff they have the Purina dog food factory. That smells awful.
Also, on my commutes in the morning I pass a diner that always smells like bacon. It's hard not to stop.

In my working life I used to call on M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ for technical assistance to our sales folks and technical support of the customer. The entire area of the town and for several miles in any direction smelled of milk chocolate. I could never decide whether it was good or bad. Too much of a good thing. It was nice, though, that they offered small bags of M&Ms in all of their waiting areas and conference rooms for their visitors.
