Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well...I think being absorbed by the oats before eating causes it to take longer to go through digestion whereas liquid just goes right through. Regardless of the reason, it sure works well for me. YMMV.

Interesting theory. Sounds disgusting though. Coffee flavored oatmeal? No thanks.

It's definitely an acquired taste.

another huge coffee lover,, I make an espresso shot AND a latte during weekdays on my jura at home to get going and have a cold press at the office and a 2nd cup when I arrive. On weekends when I have time to relax I setup my yama and cold drip a few cups the night before so it’s ready in the morning.

I couldn't image a day without coffee..

The latest study showed people that drink 3-5 cups a day have cleaner arteries, less depression, and lower chance for diabetics.

Straight up black, no sugar, and for heavens sake, no flavorings. I can drink it anywhere from scalding hot to having to chip the ice off the top when I leave my travel mug in the car in the winter. Yeah, I like coffee. Its pretty much the only indulgence I have left.

"Scientists and many athletes have known for years, of course, that a cup of coffee before a workout jolts athletic performance, especially in endurance sports like distance running and cycling." Caffeine increases the number of fatty acids in the bloodstream, which allows athletes' muscles to absorb and burn those fats for fuel, therefore saving the body's small reserves of carbohydrates for later on in the exercise."

At some point it becomes a banned substance in competition. Now you know why you're getting dropped.
