Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey, you're the one who doesn't think he needs a torque wrench. It's guys like you who are digging Sears's grave. Now I go there all the time (there is a full service store only about a 1/2 mile from my house) AND I have a Sears torque wrench. I am too virtuous for my shirt.

Woah, that's some serious business! I'm glad we have OBRA races here. A little cheaper than USAC.

I own three torque wrenches: a beam wrench from Sears for cranks and BB cups, a clicker from Sears for slightly smaller stuff and a small clicker from Italy for small torque on carbon bits.

Also got a handful of the small fixed clickers that I carry on the bike of doing adjustments.

I'm prepared for any torque emergency.

Time to get ready to ride. Expecting the torque wrench in the mail later this week.

Next I think I need this to go with the wrench:

I have one of the small preset wrenches with 4, 5, and 6 mm bits for it, but I never carry it with me. If I need to loosen a stem, bar or saddle fastener on the road, I just count the turns I loosen and then retighten that same number. It's not perfect, but it works especially since I don't go to the max spec in the first place.

Totally unrelated question/inquiry:

Home desktop PC is 3 years old, running Windows 7, seems to work perfectly well. Used by kids for homework, internet, etc.

Any good reason to try to upgrade to 10? I am inclined to leave good enough alone for now, but am open to suggestions.

See advice near the end of Addiction 49 (I don't remember how badly the Roman numerals were screwed up). I think if you search WhyFi and Windows 10 you will come up with it.
