Someone on the local FB bike trading group is selling a 5800 group for $500. I was nice and didn't mention that Ribble sells them for $367 shipped.

Superb! You doan need no stinkin' Strava.

Hey. Apparently Lynskey says you should replace a crabon fork every 5 years. Every other is just nonsense.

And the Lynskey recommendation isn't?

I can't believe how often a car cocks things up in an intersection by trying to let me go against the right of way. I want to wring their necks. Just drive your car dammit and let me worry about riding my bike.

More oftener is more betterer.

RPK79 10-08-15 01:23 PM

If you rotate forks and stems can you get more mileage out of them?

I tried riding with my stem turned around once. It didn't work too well. :)

It's a joke. There is ZERO evidence for changing a carbon fork based on age alone. You know that.

RPK79 10-08-15 02:00 PM

We just got a new Ricoh copy machine installed at the office. :thumb:

Now we just need a new phone system.

Sure I know you're joking. And me too. Lynskey, not so much.

I suspect Lynskey is suggesting this not so much for the revenue, but to be extra-cautious about possible CF fork asplosion.

Heathpack 10-08-15 03:21 PM

On the road.

The Grapevine aka I-5 north crossing over the mountains into the Central Valley.

Headed up to coach's house in Reno for a weekend of climbing. Should be awesome. We have maybe 15000 ft of elevation gain over 130ish miles on the agenda for this weekend. Yikes, I've been doing lots flat stuff lately and I'm already the puniest of the group. I ask what we're doing and I get an answer like "Riding over a mountain from Reno to Lake Tahoe & back". And that's the easy ride. :)

Good timing, I'm going to ride the Santa Barbara century next Sat which is 9000ish ft of climbing. It will be good to remind myself what it's like to climb.

And of course I'm bringing the TT bike so we can futz around with that some.

:) :) :)

Correct.

But, not a picture of his actual bike. Just a random interwebz foto. He had replaced his original DT shifters with 9 speed Campy Ergo.

I don't remember what crank he had.

I can't answer why the lady in my video was so upset, or why she drives the way she does. I'm pretty numb to most of the crap I deal with every day, to be honest. That's not a good answer, but it's the truth. A few weeks ago, I went down because I avoided a car pulling out in front of me. She actually got out, and was apologetic as can be. I just stated that I'm OK, and not even mad, as I deal with behavior like this daily.

I have a hypothesis that Prius drivers are more oblivious to their surroundings than drivers of other vehicles.

The boy didn't start his Garmin either?
