Money spent on a light bike is money wasted.

Sig-worthy.

I'm in my local home base coffee shop and the owner is AWOL leaving the Pandora channel to the whims of the two 35-40 year old baristas.

So, I just had to listen to 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun.'

Another great one from the 80's. It could be worse. It could be A-Ha "Take On Me....Take Me On."

Indeed.

i cleaned the trek for the first time in like 2 months, sealant spray is really annoying to get off - till you realize wd40 dissolves the crap out of it

I use orange seal and had my calves and the frame covered after a decent gash. It did plug, though. Anyway, the orange seal just rubbed/peeled off easily.

mine was more of a fine speckled mist so i wouldve had to sit there peeling off thousands of little dots individually. i assumed it was regular road spray and didnt notice till i was mid wash and it would just smear around from my sponge

No bike ride today. Stupid job. Work is even dumber than running IMO.

I love Cindy. Besides her music, her movies were terrific.

We're getting the family assault vehicle ready for a ride. It was 31° this AM so we're hoping for 50° Before we start. It's a double-edged sword, though, as the wind is increasing, too.

Yeah, but he forgot about the case where what you want is a light bike.

even "runners" would agree with you there

Gorgeous day and fun sufferfest ride today. Started with 68* and got up to low 80"s* by the time we finished. It was one of those days where you just wanted to keep riding, but need to take care of other business. On with the day.

Regardless, great thread and kudos on the bike.

And incredibly, he's still alive to tell us about the ride itself. Amazing, I tell you. Truly amazing.

That appears to be your favorite bike. Good choice.

I had a Zurich once but it was too small for me, I eventually gave it to my sister.

Nahh, my Italian steel is still my favorite. The Lemond is an excellent rain bike, though!

We did a metric century with something like 3300 feet of climbing, but the stinger was the wind, which gusted to around 60mph on more than many occasions. Machka had to stop several times to avoid being knocked off her bike. Sometimes I wondered why we kept going after the first mile, but then if it hadn't been windy, I would have stopped this post at the first phrase... which would have been boring.

The only thing work has done for me is help me reduce weight in the past week by 3lbs. Which is good for riding. But otherwise, it sucked. Again.

Today is our first perfect fall day. I did a quick midday ride - 58° to start, 62° after all was said and done. Brought home Orangina, cacciatore salami and a baguette. After digesting some of that I'll probably roll out again for some afternoon action!

I never had an eye-talian steel. Maybe one day. I got an excellent Japanese steel now.

Running will make you lose even more weight. I am down about 5 pounds in the past month. My wife is starting to worry about my weight.

First swim meet of the season done. I did not call disqualifications on any swimmers. I did accept some.
