I'd definitely say I learned more in college outside of the classroom than I did in it. Learning to do your own laundry, pay bills, live on your own, and be a self sufficient member of society goes a lot farther than writing essays on books you read.

Well done.

Good score Bunny. Well done. So tell us about the language test result.

Definitely not as astounding, ended up about 70 percentile. Still much better than the average student, so I can't be sad about it.

I did take the GED.

rjones28 10-22-15 04:59 PM

And the GRE.

Ha! sounds a lot like my scores back in the day. Near perfect math... average on other side. Knowing what I know now, the language side is always flawed questions.

I graduated in 3 years, while taking some graduate courses at the same time. I ended up as a postdoc research scientist immediately after that.

PepeM 10-22-15 06:54 PM

How does one end up as a postdoc without a doctoral degree?

...like a number of the guys I went to high school with, in 19 and 67 I scored a perfect 800 on the verbal SAT. You have to be a word guy.

I'd try to 'splain it to you, but you're a science guy, so you probly wouldn't unnerstan'. A lot of science and math guys just don't get words. It's OK, that's what makes horse racing.:)

The only 800 I got was on the chemistry SAT. Second time around. Went to sleep during the first try at it and got a 799. Go figure.

My language and math results were nearly identical to each other both times I took them. So I am just as full of crap in both areas.

...as a person who always tested well, I found it tragic that so much of our lives were decided by them. :( Apparently, that's gone on relatively unchanged. I hope the changes referenced earlier are significant and long lasting ones. Standardized testing makes little sense to me, given the many variables in the real world of higher learning.

Can't argue with that.

I just realized that I don't have a Shimano cassette lock ring tool in the house.

rjones28 10-22-15 10:36 PM

I have the freewheel tool and the Campy lock ring tool though.

Since you have a Campy one, throw out all of your Shimano crap and just keep the Campy stuff.

Simplify your life!
