Brake pad problem

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brake pad problem

I have Zipp 303 with the grey Zipp Tangente pads with about 3400 miles on them. A few weeks the front brakes stated to squeal and was leaving grey marks on the brake track of one side. I was told to clean the brake track with isopropyl alcohol and after a lot og elbow grease it came off. I check the pad and it was shinny so I used a file to remove the glaze. The next ride it did it again, so I cleaned the brake track and ordered new brake pads.

Today was the second ride with the new pads and while they are not squealing, they are leaving grey marks now on all 4 brake tracks.

Any suggestions?

Check the pad toe-in. I followed this video, except used a credit card on my rims. Worked great!

Here's the reply i received:
Pad glazing can happen if you do a ride where there is excessive braking throughout the ride on terrain like descents. Sometimes it can come from riding in poor weather conditions as well.
Acetone is another cleaner that is acceptable to use on the rims. Do not use Simple Green as it will leave a dull haze on the rims. Use soap and water to remove the most of the dirt and grim. You can then use the green side of the scotch brite pad to work on removing the deposited brake pad material on the brake track.
Zipp Speed Weaponry

I'll use soap and water as suggested and clean the tracks with a Scotch Brite and Acetone. Butt he pads were new with under 50 miles and 1600' descending. I would not say there were excessive braking. Let's face it, Long Island is pretty flat.

BTW... I did confirm that the toe in is correct.

I never had any problem for the first 7 months and 3400 miles.

I don't know what to add. I've got two sets and never have that problem. Could the gray brake pad dust be embedded in the brake track and need to work out?
