Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1997 Bianchi Alloro

Bianchi Alloro Full Campagnolo 57cm 40 Miles | eBay

Thinking about purchasing this bike but have no idea how to price older bikes.
Is it in the correct price range?
Any advice/input appreciated, thanks!

Seriously?
Is it simply the price or is that not a decent/desirable older bike in your opinion?

It's a nice older bike, but nothing special, and the price is high.

I hear ya but assuming he is correct that he is the original owner and it only has 40 miles on it I like the idea of having a nice almost 20 year old bike in that condition.
I would most likely offer $700 and hope for the best.

the bike is still nothing special. It's like a 18 year old version of the steel Motobecane.

He is not correct. Check out the handlebar tape, the rear cassette. No way that's 40 miles.
