That was a crazy ending to a feetball game.

One of this season's epic games. Lots of credit to the Packers for not giving up, but also a little blame for the Lions for taking the foot off the gas a wee bit.

Exactly.

Had the Lions kept the gas on they would not have been put in a position where a facemask call with no time on the clock gave GB a chance to run one more play.

Hey UnfilteredDregs, I hope the mrs is feeling better.

Statins can definitely cause a myopathy, which would be diffuse all-over muscle aches. It would be unusual for it to cause an isolated tendon problem, but it's possible.

Zetia added to a statin helps the numbers a lot but decreases heart attacks only a little. A sub-study suggests that the class of folks who got most of the benefits are diabetics. So I have been generally trying to use that combo in those with diabetes.

Finally, get your medical advice from a physician you trust and have seen in person. Not off the internet. If what you guys are advised does not make sense there is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion.

Best wishes for the Mrs, UFD!

Woke up to the news that Scott Weiland died. :( First thing I heard when the radio came on as I started the car. I know I'm a young one compared to most on the board, but that one kind of hit me hard. I loved STP in high school. I had the album Core on repeat for a good long bit back then. Funny enough, I just mentioned earlier this year that when my daughter in is high school, STP will be as old to her as the Beatles were when I was in high school.

But with the on again/off again addiction problems, I guess it's not much of a surprise. Still, sad to see him go.

I think that Core is one of those era- and genre-defining albums.

Frankly, when I saw the news this morning, my immediate thought was, "oh, he hadn't ODed yet?" Sad to say, but this seemed to be a long time coming.

I've just used the magic of modern technology to change the manufacturers name on the radio to a more cycling appropriate one. I thought it was mildly amusing. I am easily amused. Best not to overthink these things. Best not to overthink anything you see/read on this forum.

I just saw it. Kudos.

w/r/t the Pack v Lions: A-a-ron Rodgers - there's not a throw he can't make and not a questionable that call he won't get. When it comes to "protecting the QB," there seem to be two sets of rules: one set for Rodgers and Brady, and one set for all of the other QBs.

My new replacement light, mfr rated @ 700 lumens, tested @ 770 lumens, it's great, a car headlight is supposedly 900 lumens. Super light, great ergonomics, TWO AND A HALF HOUR RUN TIME on high, which ROCKS. Under $100 on Amazon. These lights are getting much better and much cheaper than they were just a couple of years back.

I have a 250 lumen light and that thing is super bright. Can't imagine needing more. They never last as long in the cold unfortunately and that is when I tend to use it. I can only take so much inside in the winter.

I am sure this is a fine light. But you can get a magicshine clone that allegedly gives 2000 Lumens and really puts out 800-ish lumens for 2 hours from scambay or amazon for $20. At that price, even if you need a new one each year they are cheap.

Yeah, I can't say I'm surprised, but I guess you always hope for the best. I actually remember hearing a clip on the radio just a few months ago of him singing Vasoline at a show and he was MESSED UP and sounded awful. Drugs are bad.

All this talk of lights and battery life just gets me more excited to build my dynamo hub back up again so I can have a bike that is ready to go all the time, save for some air in the tires.

SpeshulEd 12-04-15 11:07 AM

I have the Exposure Diablo MK6...got a really good deal on it a few months back. That thing pushes out 1300 lumens, it's insane. I usually point it down so I don't blind drivers.

WRT to protecting Rodgers and Brady, I agree. But, hasn't that pretty much been the case for many, many years? There are a few "protected" QB's, the rest take the knocks that the get.

Thanks Doc...Went to her endocrinologist this morning and ran all the questions regarding the remote possibilities of the cholesterol meds being interelated...It's a very long shot. Nevertheless she's been approved as a candidate for Praulent or Repatha injections, she can drop the Zetia with those...I also have a consult lined up with a top-shel Sports guy at Hospital for Special Surgery...on another note she's a candidate for retina detachment in one eye and her current opthamologist says exercise is a no-no...and that to me is unacceptable so, I'm going to be seeking out another guy for a more detailed opinion. She needs to exercise, strengthen her body, lose weight, and assist her metabolism in doing so. I've impressed this upon her...

To the extent that it is, now? Not that I'm aware of, in football at least (MJ got all the calls in bball decades ago). Football was always a "tough guy" sport, but they really only made protecting the QB a point of emphasis a few years ago (notably addressing low hits only after Brady had his knee blown out) and have continued to expand the no-touchie areas almost every year. Looking at examples, the disparity in flag/no flag with those two vs everybody else is pretty stark.

You don't get it. If I wanted WIRES on my light I'd just leave home with a light fixture and a 10 mile extension cord.

You come to one of my pathetic little live music gigs and see the morass of friggin cables and wires I have to contend with to do the sound and ask yourself if you'd ever want to see another cable ever again.

Now that's good ****, right there. Nice to see you back, especially when you perform a drive-by such as that.
