Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Conti g24000 ii with a Hump?

I've ridden dozens of these tires (23s and 25s) over the past few years; put a new set on (25s) last week. Didn't notice anything, until the first ride. A definite bump/hump. I checked for bead/rim separation, deflated and reinflated the tire (same tubes, as before.) Hump is still there.

I haven't taken the tire off, to check for thickness variations. Any thoughts?

Just checking. Is your valve stem properly seated inside the tire beads? I could see how an unseated stem could cause your problem... for a while anyway until the tube blows up.

Defects happen. This is where buying locally pays off over buying on the interweb.

Not really consider yourself as self-insured. Five successful tire purchases online and you can easily afford an oops and still be ahead.
