Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's a funny story too because I repeated that to my daughter, who is one, and she said "What did they mean? Dress for comfort? Vote Democrat or Libertarian?" Which is fine because the purpose of this year was to experience a culture that was very different from the one I was used to. Also, it's not like these people are saying things in an intentionally mean way. It's just like how they grew up not recycling.

Hey! Stop that! LoP uses it in texts to me and online and I wouldn't consider him lazy. In fact, he is on day 6 of working 9 days in a row. And, despite us sometimes drinking out of jelly jars and Mason jars with handles, I don't think he qualifies as low class either.

I love prolly. Saves one from having to type out the "more conventional " version. I ain't got no time for that nonsense.

And you guys are worried about prolly and lose/loose. People don't even know Roy G. Biv. How do you expect them to know anything?
I love Roy G. Biv and also TMBG.

Most *here* who use prolly do it for convenience. And for humor. It's a comical substitute. But lose and loose have two different meanings, so not comparable.

I think my justification was out of context. If you use prolly, I really don't care. Use it, have fun with it. I'm not trying to be critical of users to "prolly". I was simply trying to explain to that my thinking the use of "prolly" has to do with laziness. The user simply chooses to use "prolly" instead of "probably". Fine with me.

I prolly dislike "irregardless" more than prolly. And "I could care less..." is also a pet peeve. We all have them, I reckon.

My kids hate it when I say "I reckon." They say no one talks like that. Except that crazy guy from "Sling Blade" which no, they have NOT seen.

Why don't you get the SL2 and buy me an Allez with the change? I've heard Ultegra is more durable than Dura Ace anyway, so you'll want that.

I finally got a somewhat serious lunch ride in today. Unfortunately I didn't get started 'til about 15 mins in to my hour lunch, so didn't get as far as I'd hoped. I also found out I'm gonna need a freewheel with some bigger cogs on it. 24x28 on a 27.5x3" tire is pretty tall for going up this hill:
