Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When I had my custom ti frame built last year I wanted it finished with Cerakote (a ceramic coating) because I don't like silver bikes. I seriously looked into pink and even had the frame finisher to a custom colored test tube for me. Unfortunately, the pink came out looking too much like bubble gum so I went with a custom mix that I call sea foam green. It' sort of like pistachio ice cream, but not as green.

Every Friday, the Wall Street Journal Report interviews a lady from Google to find out what the most Googled items were this week.

Amongst the top 5 searches this week was: When is July 4th?

Is it on the 4th again this year?

Since you took the high road earlier, I'll take the high road and pass on the easy joke here as well.

@topslop1 is welcome to take a shot, though.

My mom worked with a lady who would look at the office holidays calendar and remark "Oh, look. Thanksgiving's on a Thursday again this year."

I once had a robin's egg blue Trek 2000 with pink lettering. Does that count? The ugliest bike ever made. A free replacement frame due to corrosion on the cream-colored original.

In one of the threads about pink bikes, there was a beautiful bike that was like Italian ice. Pink, green, kind of a silvery white, IIRC. Let's see your pistachio bike.

Not sure I have a photo of it loaded to the web and I see you can no longer simply post photos stored on your computer. I'll see if I can find one.

Gordon Deal, the WSJ guy, suggested that Google should have given a smart-ass reply of some kind which they have done in the past for some other obvious questions.

[QUOTE=LAJ;18882455]Not even in the same ballpark as the other two. I've tried them all. Nobody beats Honda for value, especially for those who lease.

Just today my SIL took his Honda Odyssey into the dealer for an oil change. He is about 18 months into a 36 month lease. He asked the sales manager to make him a deal and walked out with a brand new same spec minivan, a new 36 month lease, and a $40/mo lower payment. Nothing down at all. Happens all the time.

Monday, Tuesday? I assume that's what people were looking for.

At least, I hope so...

Funny thing is, I like Honda better in abstract, but the holes in their lineup match almost exactly to my needs and wants. Toyota fills them, albeit yes at a steep price C'est la vie.

Nissan isn't even worth talking about. German reliability, now with an Asian nameplate.

Sometimes the thread derails are more interesting than the original topic @Heathpack.

Probably why Addiction is generally the only thread worth reading.

I need to run to the grocery store so unfortunately I'm going to appear to have given up the argument.

I was cleaning out the attic today and I found my first wool racing jersey, lace-up Sidi shoes, crochet-back leather gloves, and Cinelli hairnet.

Old stuff by trsnrtr, on Flickr
