Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is why I had a P.O. box, when I lived in an apartment.

Thanks for the rental link you sent, BTW. I'll check them out for logistics, we're staying in La Jolla and I'll probably be riding in Encinitas so it may be a challenge to get to downtown SD for a pickup.

Expect overdone HDR-y photos from the pacific ocean posted in this thread in T-minus 2 weeks

You should send the RAW files to Billy and let him make them look purty.

Very car-centric, but a fun movie. I like to think of it as a classier, less hollywood version of Cannonball Run. As far as I know, it predated all such movies. It has a young Raul Julia and Gary Busey.

So the clouds opened up and drenched my neck of the woods. Should make for some fun/interesting gravel sections on Saturday. The gravel roads here dry up pretty quick, though. Still getting pumped about the ride.

I just opened my NBC Sports app to check in on the ITT today. Saw GPS speed data for Froomey, he was going 24mph. Does that mean I'm faster than Froome when I average 24-28 mph for hamerfests of 35-60 miles?

My photographer uncle is/was planning to sail out to the apostle islands on lake superior to get some good photos as it sails by. He's been in radio contact with the ship to coordinate it. Been going on and on about it for months now.

Two of Us just got rebooked by another joint, so that's encouraging.

I think the Pcad Garbage Mile Streak® is up to like 52 days. Tomorrow I'll try to chase the road nazi around down in NJ. Let's see if I can hang onto those idiots THIS time.

I think it actually means you won the TDF. No need to actually enter races to be a winning racer, after all. I learned me that in the 41.
