Actually, he is really tall. 6-8, and works on diseasals. One of the best in the country, and lives in Ponchatoula, LA. So, being the best means he even gets to work on fishing boats, and all other kinds of stuff.

It is. He put on a big batch-o-gumbo, and other goodies, and invited any and all to his house for dinner, shelter, whatever. Good heart.

Oof - that's pretty rough. I don't think that the lone season of ST (which I'll probably start watching sometime soon) is going to hold you over. If you want to continue the 80s vibe, read Ready Player One, too. It's set in the near future but is saturated with 80s near pop.

My flirting with a new Powertap build has been given the cold shoulder again. A couple weeks ago, a 20% off at CC convinced me to move forward, but the code didn't work once I had it in the cart. Just now, I called Powertap to see if they were currently shipping and to place an order, but production is backed up (waiting on parts) a few weeks. Guess I'll wait a few more weeks and see if I still have a burning desire to pin a numerical value on my suckiness.

You ever play Dragon Age: Origins? One of my favorite games/RPGs ever, and also by BioWare. With different character storylines (based upon chosen race, class, etc) and group building tactics, it's worth replaying a few times. I don't want to look at my Steam stats, but I bet that I've sunk at least 300 hours in to it since it was released.

The GS is $300 regular price. It's the newest as far as I'm aware, but it also started out at a much higher MSRP. It wasn't mentioned in the disclaimer, but the one-day 20% CC code didn't apply towards Ptaps at all.

My brother and I played constantly as kids, and recently discovered that a group released a freeware version of RA that works on all types of systems and has online servers/direct IP games-

We played a couple of multiplayer rounds online last night, brought back a lot of good memories. Fun times.

Once you recover, I'd recommend it highly. Yoga is not just meditation and relaxation (or at least the classes we go to aren't). It seriously kicks my ass every time. And then the mediation at the end clears your mind. But my bike position is much better since I've been doing it, and sleeping better than ever.
The fact that I'm usually the only guy there helps too (there is one other guy that sometimes comes).
And it will help you fill out those jerseys too.

In addition to being told to stay off the leg for another three weeks, I (finally) got a knee brace, which restricts flex to 30 degrees. It makes for slower walking.
So no more PRs on my walk around the Catholic parish, I'm afraid. I started out at an hour and got it down to 40 minutes. Inspirational, I know.

CNN has been tanking in ratings lately. I think it has a lot to do with the crappy quality of the product.

The most annoying thing for me is seeing the paid ad links in the middle of a damn article on any of those news websites. You know, you scroll down to get to the 2nd page and all of a sudden there are links, all featuring beautiful women doing things like paying for gas or sitting in jail or whatever, with titles like "People with less than 10k in credit card debt are in for a huge surprise", "Virginia drivers are shocked to learn a weird new rule", "New app leaves Richmond residents 'rattled'" ect.
The location-specific stuff is really creepy.

UBlock Origin
Ghostery
I haven't seen that crap in a loooong time.
There's a lot of hate for adblock, but I like how I can use it to block any element I want on the page, like annoying banners, and other crap. Most news sites for me are just the text now.

Really, really awesome game.
If you're not familiar with commanding a group in an RPG, it can take a bit of time to get acclimated, though. The key is learning how to build cohesive groups (you typically command four characters at a time) that work well together. Part of that is defining roles for each character that leads to a well-balanced group (one member that deals huge melee damage, one healer, one tank to absorb aggression from the opposition, etc) and, at higher levels, it's about having characters that can each provide overlapping buffs to the rest of the party.
Another AWESOME thing that I think that you would enjoy is Tactic slots. You can pause fights and micromanage the actions of each character, or you can do a little programming to have them act along presets - if a party member's health falls below X, you can have your healer cast something on them. If there's a mage lofting spells in the distance, you can have your ranged character attack with a bow, or have your mage try a paralysis spell, etc. Running in to a really tough fight where you have to micromanage is challenging and fun, but setting up tactics perfectly and watching your group chew through a horde on autopilot is super rewarding, too.
Oh, also - great, great writing and characters. Easily among the best out there in that regard.

Don't know about all that, but did any of you guys play Red Alert or any of the Command & Conquer RTS games back in the day?

There is a fellow attempting to swim across Lake Michigan from Chicago to St. Joseph, Michigan, then back. He left Chicago at about 5:00 am today. He estimate the swim will take him 60 to 70 hours.
