I did my FTP test last night. My guesstimate FTP was only 5w from what I tested as last night. In reality, I probably guessed right, because I started the test aiming for my peak FTP, which cooked me, so this number is likely just a hair low.
Nothing like a test that nearly kills you (probably literally in my case) only to tell you what you already knew: You're fat and out of shape.
I'm 13% down from my peak. Guess I'll be on the trainer again tonight, and the night after that, and then next night, and ...

This is what I have (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It's great. Same brand as that hundo metal version.

Do we all need gold medals because we take pixelated, grainy, and blurry photos of the sky at dawn? I guess so.

Yea. I had the nerve to critique someone's photo they shared. It was a sunrise shot, and they proudly labeled it, "Sunrise, taken with my Google Pixel". I pointed out that a real camera would do a much better job at low light/high dynamic range situations like a sunrise, and a million people piled on me for being critical.

Obvious trolling and abuse goes untreated because the admins think it's funny, while actual discussion gets reported and users banned if those admins disagree with the narrative. It's super 1984 over there lately.

I haven't done an FTP test in a year and a half. I've done enough TT's that my number is pretty well approximated, but that doesn't stop the coach from training me above that number. The weights 4 times a week are just boogering the bike rides up to no end, but he seems OK with it.

Yeah, took me all of 10 seconds. I must have spent 5 whole minutes trying to find an appropriately creepy way of letting you know about it, though.

Damn it. A favorite tool manufacturer/vendor has a two-day free shipping deal going on. Just yesterday, I was debating what I'd get the next time they have free shipping (it's usually only twice per year and they don't really have sales otherwise) and now they've gotta push the issue. Do I get the semi-expensive chisel that I know I want or the three-times-as-expensive hand plane that might just end up being a shop workhorse?
Maybe the more important question is, "why does 'Free Shipping!' turn me in to a hand-wringing idiot when '$14 off' (the max shipping charge) garners a 'meh'?"

Lol, was considering that, too. Then I think, "hmmm, I could build a ptap rear wheel for about the same money..." and that makes it less clear again.
I'm good at this indecision thing.

Now what I really love is getting free shipping and a 5 or even 10% discount on the goods and then paying for it all with a self-purchased gift certificate that I bought at another 5% discount. That is sweet, and it is really hard to resist even when I have about 4,000 of the damn things around the house right now.

I have a ton of chisels, and I prefer the palm type. To go along with that is a ton of sharpening stuff. I always wanted a good surface grinder to get my **** really sharp really fast. Something like one of these:

I do 95% of my dimensioning by hand and straight and square is essential (except when it's not). The plane would be used for roughing, possibly smoothing and definitely shooting.
