Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Re the gif: I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Re Will Farrel: He has looked pretty thin in some roles and larger in others. It is just one of those things that actors do...gain 20-40 Lbs for this roll drop for some other role.

Bikes: Casati, Look, Torelli, Ridley, and a bunch of steel bikes from the 80s and the 90s..

No offence Gonefishing. Good for you with the 1k+ miles so far. Well you use the bike, don't you? All I am trying to say is that some people own something and never use it. Many of us know someone like that. I picture a rodie riding hard and maybe training for something or riding for fitness. I am gonna piss off alot of people here. A guy spends 3-4000 bucks on a bike and ride it once or maybe twice a month is not a rodie. More time is spending waxing the thing then riding it. These are the same guys that talk about bike set up (for racing), stem length, and frame flex and Geometry and on and on. I call them recretational riders who like to spend money on cool stuff. They can't even ride in a straight line.

After all it is only a word.

So you're saying he needed to add rolls of flab for some of his roles

I was watching Fraiser and noticed the main actor's legs- his quads were really cut. I wonder if he rides.. or starves?

I thought maybe the actress on WITHOUT A TRACE, Poppy Montomery, might be a cyclist. I thought I saw a little bit of cyclist tan on her, but it could also be golf (white hands).

I think that to be considered a roadie you should be able to spell roadie.

Where I come from a "roadie" is the guy who moves the big cases of equipment on and off the stage and tells security "s'alright, mate, I'm wif da band".

That beats the heck out of anything I'm likely to do anytime soon so god bless him. And there are some riders that surprise you based on physical appearance. On the other hand, I'm kinda of crushed that with all that work we can't all be Adonis look alikes. I'm really hoping its the role -as opposed to the roll - thing.

. . . Ponders going back to being a couch potato to avoid the swim/run after work today that will likely be painful. . . . .

I did not know that about the Hoff, but in any case I'll make a crucial contribution to this thread:

The fact that anyone admits to having any sort of collection of Hasselhoff pictures pretty much scares the daylights out of me.

On a serious note kefin do you frequent the seiko dive watch forums or did you just stumble across them while hunting more pictures for your collection?

Seriously, yes, I frequent the Seiko & Citizen Watch Forum. Have been wearing Seikos for years. Love the divers!

BTW, don't really know about David Hasselhoff, but I've met people here in San Francisco that say they've seen Robin Williams out riding one of his 50 or so road bikes. He's a real cycling nut and shows up every year to do some celebrity thing at the T-Mobile International Race here. Last year, I saw Shanon Elizabeth (of American Pie fame) trying out the "virtual bike course" on a trainer bike set up by one of the T-Mobile Race sponsers. It didn't seem like she knew anything about cycling, but everyone loved watching her on the bike.

I've also been known to hang out there but not recently - no time. Wearing a 7002 as I type this and contemplating sending another one of my 6309s to Jack-san for spa treatment.

The 7002 and 6309 divers are my everyday watches. They're built like tanks and can take all kinds of abuse. Once, I've even crashed on my bike, tore my jersey and bruised my pelvis and almost cracked all the my ribs on my side, but my 7002 diver suffered only a few scrapes and never lost a second!

Have fun with your Seikos!

Here are some quotes alledgely from David Hasselhoff is anti-christ website (see link above), Pretty funny....

"I'm good-looking, and I make a lot of money."

"There are many dying children out there whose last wish is to meet me."

"I'm six foot four, an all-American guy, and handsome and talented as well!"

"Before long, I'll have my own channel -- I'll be like Barney."
