Dave Levy at TiCycles has made some similar forks. Difference is that the forward trusses run up to the stem on his. With the triangular trussing it is inherently so much stronger that he can use far lighter tubing and they weigh almost nothing. (No massive steerer. It is not in bending.)

At 5'8", the upgrade I regret most is 36" wheels. Totally duped by the marketing.
