I just poked through a random page. Giggled a little bit and then saw a cluster of coasting posts. That subdued the mirth. :(

I repaired my first roadside flat in probably three years. The problem initially appeared to be the zigzag position of the rim strip. However, on closer inspection, it became clear that the valve was separating from the tube. Fixed everything up*, and rode off, to kthump, kthump, kthump with each revolution. Discresion is the better part of valor. I doubt I'll get back out tonight. Bumma

*With a different tube.

So...

After a maddening game of phone tag, I got in touch with the recruiter for that company I interviewed with last week. They made an excellent offer. The only downsides are significantly less paid time off compared to my current job, and a "west coast" schedule initially where I would have to work 11am to 8pm.

Honestly, wifey and I can work out the hours as far as dinner and evening plans, because the opportunity is just too good to pass up! If you guys find me posting in this thread at any point during the month of May (when I'd start training), please report and ban me.

Solo's posts no longer contain a signature quote.

Kudos.

That schedule means no excuse for not getting a morning ride in.

Kudos! Schedule sounds awesome to me. Lack of vacation time sure sucks though.
