It's just a few days 'til I go on my first road bike ride in over a year. I bet it's gonna feel fast.

Be sure to keep your eyes directed on the road ahead of you.

Hopefully knee-high compression socks.

Calf length would look more pro.

It was so determined years ago. You should find it in your retro-readings sooner or later.

People are weird indeed....

Some aren't very smart, either.

Ok so you for sure should wear a yellow sock on your right foot and a green sock on your left.

Looking for the correct green.

I have some striped Giro hightowers, but they're the wrong colour.

I generally like 5" socks for cycling.

So we had "breakfast for dinner" last night, which included some turkey bacon (I know, I know... it wasn't my first choice). Anyway, gave a couple of leftover slices to our pup in her food bowl.

I woke up to a bit of a smelly disaster in the kitchen this morning. At least her PGS guided her to the tile kitchen rather than furniture or a carpet. Oh, and the cats both threw up on our stairs.

The little joys I get to deal with each morning... I treasure them.

If anyone wants to watch a race video, this is from that dedicated crit course I mentioned yesterday-

People are weird.

Double good news. Rain has stopped so usual Wednesday club ride is ON. And mrs datlas told me she wants Chipotle for post-ride lunch date, so it will be a ride followed by sofritas. Win-win.

Interesting video on Beetroot juice and cycling performance:

Walked the boy to the bus stop this morning and came to the conclusion that ~40° and rain is pretty damn miserable.

Oh, and the forecast for the gravel ride that RPK79 and I are doing on Sun? ~40° and rain. Woo!!!

As expected my wife is pushing back on me going if it's raining, but I'm still planning on riding.

Yeah, I'm just re-calibrating on my apparel. I'm thinking that I'll dress like I'm riding at 20° - Gore jacket and lightweight LS merino shirt under - should stay warm even when wet. I'm going to err on the side of overheating rather than hypothermia.

Try to keep up.

I totally disagree with that standard.

But I will reluctantly comply. Group harmony and all that sort of thing.

Under protest.
