Ooh, one of my friends racing in NC over the weekend literally won her race by a bike throw!

Too bad the girl in 2nd doesn't post here. She'd have words for all those people who say, "Unless you're losing races by 5 inches, you don't need (expensive aero upgrade)".

Bland. England, too.

In 'Gravity's Rainbow', Pynchon describes English sweets as having a taste reminiscent of kerosene. That is always what I think of when the subject of English food comes up.

Not in a while, but when I did I was never asked that by the little Italian tailor. Last suit I bought was from The Men's Warehouse. I have worn it to one wedding and one funeral. I rarely even wear a jacket and tie. My employer went business casual in '95.

I'm in an academic conference in Maryland. It's beena an hour and I already want to kill myself. Someone come save me. Bring bikes.

If I'm frightened, I'm frightened of all those wrinkles I'd encounter! I can do without the foreshadowing.

He probably noticed while measuring. ;)

Seriously.

If the weather is anything like it's been here for the last 4 days, bikes might not be the solution.

Rather ride through a monsoon than being here.

Scarbo 04-25-17 09:12 AM

What's the conference about? Boring?

Ride up to Philly for the "NFL Draft Experience." Only experience so far has been snarled traffic.

Apparently not. ;)

I will invoke my position as the 41 resident expert on men's tailored clothing having grown up in the men's wear and custom tailoring businesses. "Dressing right" or "dressing left" are indeed questions asked by a custom tailor presumably to allow room on the proper side for the equipment. In fact it is all hogwash. There is no extra room on one side of a pair of pants or the other. Certainly not on "off the rack" clothes since who knows which side is supposed to be standard. And I have owned many tailor-made suits and never had one which actually provided more room on one side or the other. I have never seen a custom suit being made that had any such allowance. It is basically an urban myth. Foolishness.

You know, it's quite possible the sports car weenies over at corvetteforums.com are more pathetic than you freds. Still, the median income there is probably far higher, so they have that going for them. Trying to talk to you idiots about sports car crap is the apogee of faii. Let's start with the basics. In the photo below the real Ferrari is on the right, the White Trash Ferrari is on the left.

I do most of my sports car living vicariously through my friend that does window tint and car wraps.

Sweet Stingray Grand Sport in his shop getting some tint:

Now you tell us! Sheesh!

In fairness, I guess that I should have known that something was up when my last suit came with a cozy.

Ooh, I missed this one. Must be his and hers GT3RS

Perhaps you haven't been asked because you don't need more room. ;)

Yay, a 458! Not that I've driven either, but I have seen the GT versions of that and the 488 at various races. Turbo'd 488 sounds like poo compared to the older cars.

Thank god they still make normally aspirated V12s. For now.

Finally a pic of a real sports car, actually being designed for sports.

I think the Ferrari pictured is a 488 cabriolet actually. The 488 coupe is the most beautiful sports car design I've ever seen. AND the car is about as fast as modern sports cars get, VERY fast on a track, right up there with the Z06 and the Porsche 918. Those last two cars lapped Northern Virginia Raceway (Car & Driver) in about 2:45, the C7 Stingray turned a 2:53.8, a Grand Sport (my car's motor in a Z06 chassis, suspension/wheels tires) did a 2:47 or so. Anything under 3 minutes on that track is fast, anything under 2:55 very fast, under 2:50- fastest production cars you can buy.
