Yep. The American Airlines incident a few days ago with the lady and a stroller... A friend works as an FA for them, she wasn't on the plane but posted something written by one of the other passengers. Apparently the lady was being very belligerent and essentially daring the staff to enforce their rules regarding carry ons. Of course, the video everyone sees starts after most of the incident occurs, and makes the FA look very bad.

Caught up. While the internet was down, I was working on an old Hardrock I'm selling to our electrician/gardener. The snag came when I was unable to put my hands on my big bag of brake parts. It has cantilevers on it now, for which I don't have all the parts. I bet I have some V brakes in there. I'm continually tripping over that bag. Must've put it somewhere safe.

Seems reasonable. Hopefully he didn't sign a contingency fee agreement.

Yep. What is a contingency fee agreement?

Whomever explains this should also explain what CLE is. Some of us are straggling along in the dark here.

Little m is thousand. mm is million. Big M is million. k is also thousand. My employer always used M for million and K for thousand.

I can do the CLE. Continuing legal education.

I was going to post something about that too. A lady in hysterics because her stroller was going to be stowed. A passenger threatened a flight attendant, and the flight attendant was fired. Nothing I saw on that clip showed normal behavior. Not one thing.

Contingency fee agreements usually mean a plaintiff's attorney doesn't get paid until a settlement is reached, and then they take a fixed portion of the settlement amount (1/3rd is typical depending on the type of claim). That's as opposed to working on a retainer agreement where you're paying fixed amounts over time for the services of the attorney.

CLE is "continuing legal education", most (all?) state Bar associations require attorneys (even non-practicing ones) to get a certain number of hours of "education" per year to keep their licenses current. In Virginia that means you need to sit through 12 hours of seminars on various topics per year, and most attorneys end up scrambling to get it all in right at the end.

So, your time saving thing caused you to write out "million" 3 times, "thousand" 3 times, and prove a point, all in one post. Yeah, your shorthand was successful.

rpenmanparker 04-28-17 02:48 PM

Oh hell, the lawyers get their cut. That's fair. What did you think, Dao was representing himself? His job was to lie in the hospital bed and groan. The lawyer made the deal.

Speaking of CLE, there will be another lawyer turned loose on the country soon, as my nephew is about to graduate. He still wants to be president some day.

Agree. Already has Washington experience from college and working for think tank. Gonna do a clerkship on D.C. circuit as well. Overqualified.

For every yard they dragged him down that aisle, I kept hearing "kaching".

Getting a couple hundred thousand for a few weeks of work is BS. That's why people hate lawyers. Ambulance chasers are the worst, although the divorce attorneys are pretty sucky as well.

Most profitable tooth replacement ever.

datlas 04-28-17 04:32 PM

Put aside all food/supplies for tomorrow's ride:

2 bottles cytomax, plus enough powder to mix 3 more bottles with water: 900 cal
2 fig bar packs: 360 cal
2 natures made brownie packs: 360 cal
3 shot blok sleeves : 600 cal
10 TUMS : 100 cal (estimate)

Total 2320 calories

I don't think I will eat all the shot bloks but nice to have extras just in case.

I also lubed the chain on the Habanero and tweaked the RD barrel a half turn. Shifts like buttah.

Good decision. I almost did a clerkship after law school. It's a good transitional option that pads the resume and gives you some more time. In my situation the Public Defender's Office wanted to place me in Grand Junction and there was no way that was happening. You don't go from Chicago to Grand Junction.
